this is cutting edge stuff. From an industry perspective, I can tell you the focus is in non invasive prenatal screening (NIPT). What these scientists are doing here is groundbreaking work. I can barely keep whole genome amplification kits for down to 5 cells in stock at my company. During my QC I'm able to detect known HL-60 chomasomal abnormalites down to 5 cells. I honestly believe non invasive early leukemia screening is coming within 5 years

A great technology emerged from a great mind. Now we do not have to store millions of cells for sequencing purpose just a single cell is sufficient and remove the potential bias between the cells.
