Thanks, nice tutorial. I can never seem to get good results from sequencers, but I did pick this one up a couple months ago and hope it gets better.

Novel Seeds is indeed a great M4L device. Different features than SEQUND though. It really depends on what you are trying to achieve and your workflow.

I am a sucker for tools of this kind. The one I am fond of currently is Rozzer as it comes as a free Max for Live step sequencer. For this one tho the price is extremely tempting and affordable.

Is it possible to lock all parameters on a single step with one button?, rather than having to click each tiny little lock button on all the parameters?

Can you easily move all the notes together and also individually to hit start on any step in the bar? I guess a workaround to move them all at once would be to trigger with MIDI notes.

No Step-Shifting (L/R milliseconds)??? Thats why I love OPAL. How can a sequencer be missing this??? This main feature is missing from many plugin sequencers

Hallo LotusTunesAcademy.

Can you assign different midi channels to each sequence
@alexkidofficial9 ай бұрын
@michael7018 you can't because it is a monophonic sequencer and only one sequence is running at a time. But because it is a plug-in, you can of course open multiple instances to run multiple sequences in parallel.

This is basically 'melodic steps' as a plugin
@alexkidofficial9 ай бұрын
Not really... I released already my M4L patches in 2018 ( Cute Little Sequencer & Probabilistic Sequencer ) using that same logic and Melodic steps is from 2020 (which I believe was slightly inspired from mine... but I could be wrong). Plus you can't separate the rhythm from the melody in Melodic Steps unless you control it with the velocity. Yet it is not the same as controlling the gate trig as you cant' then have a hold note if you send a vel0 value that would mute the note. You also do not have 2 melodic lines and probability between these. You can always find similarities between sequencers and can get similar results, but I always found those were unsatisfying, hence doing my own devices with my own concepts, trying to maintain the most essential and musical features without being overwhelming.

after years the amount off sequencers a person has it almost like a library , one more will just end up on the pile ...
@alexkidofficial9 ай бұрын
That is very subjective :) ... you could probably apply this to any plug-in as a matter of fact or any synth. It depends on the results you are trying to achieve and your work process. Even if a plug-in ends up being unused, the inspiration and perspective it might have given you on a few tracks is always worth.
