I tried out a block of 30 in Koatl's Claw. Kept them on point with an astrolith nearby and they felt great. Even with fulminators, my opponent couldnt move them. Exactly what I wanted from the warriors.

The wording for the hero phase move command ability only stipulates that the general has to be in your territory. So you can teleport them up, keep them in range of the general, and still get to hero phase move.

I love these new Saurus. Painting them has been an absolute pleasure and they actually have some STAY when on the board. I've used those bite attacks quite successfully when they get engaged against characters or small units like Stormcast Annihilators. Munch munch munch.

Hey Caleb! Thanks for the amazing content. I'm new to Seraphon army and I love the Saurus side but I'm also a big fan of Kroak as a model and I'm trying to make lists that include both Saurus AND Kroak. I noticed that you don't really mix both in any of your lists so far, is there a reason for that?

Bringing the Burning Head is a great way to get extra value out of that Slaan's extra cast. With an Astrolith Bearer nearby, the extra 6'' on the cast to keep your units out of the blast and your Slaan a little further away from harm.

Even just doubling the wounds in taking up the same space is huge. Economy of space is a big part of efficiency in combat units. They do about 50% more damage on average vs chaos warriors against 4+ saves and even more on higher saves, for less, are a LOT more durable against the actual things that do major damage( 2+ damage sources) and have access to a lot of movement shenanigans and even more punchiness. Great wound efficiency too at 10 per wound. I think Saurus are seriously one of the best basic infantry in the game.

@Caleb Hastings What are your thoughts on the new point costs? I feel like the Saurus are fairly priced by most of it is just a bit too expensive. Every time I build a Coalesced List I find mysel missing just about 100 points for my final little support piece. If the points for most Units were to drop by 20 points then I could fit a Unit of Ripperdactyles, an Oldone on foot or a second Skinkpriest. Just somehting to round everything out and give me the option to buff more than one unit or be more mobile.

I dont know if i agree with the galatian veterans becoming a core rule. A underrated part of Sigmar is positioning and weapon reach. The trade off for having a shorter reach for many units is a better weapon profile compared to a longer reach where youd get overall more attacks in. It makes units more interesting and gives them a better role.

I am new to seraphon army and started with the new box. I appreciate your videos very much and would be happy about a video in which different lists (consealed/starborne) are shown with advantages and disadvantages. Currently I am not quite sure how to expand my army after the starter box to get to 1000p or 2000p because its difficult to guess which list has what playstyle

Yeah, I think choosing either Starborne or Coalesced ends up leading you down specific paths. For Coalesced - You will need more Warriors and a Carnosaur. For Starborne - Skinks and a Troglodon

Have 40 warriors. Planned for future with 20 spears and 20 clubs. Will run as one unit of 20 spears and two units of 10 clubs. As of now basically relying on one rule that basically makes one weapon profile almost useless.

the Galatian veterans rule is the basic rule in 40K... I would absolutely love to see some more interchangeability and standardization across the two games.

Bringing in 6x Krox from reserve in Draco's Tail at 7" away from an enemy... is awesome! Also love the "Vengful Defender" command trait on a 9x Krox block in Koatl's Claw. Plus run and charge from Starpriest spell. All of the sudden that is a FAST unit!!

I think pairing an astrolith bearer may not be a bad idea just to run around with your skink starpriest. It’s a cheap way to get +1 to cast without relying on a Slann while also giving your warriors a ward which helps mitigate this armies weakness to mass damage one attacks. Also not the worst holder of Sotek’s Gaze

I have a question for Warriors. If I'm not wholly within my territory, but I control Objective. Then my opponent changes me and now is Contesting. Do the Warriors get their 3+ save or no?

Thank you for all your good vidéos, for the warriors, i think they are quite good like thé aggraddons and thé héros on aggeadfons But they are unfortunatly very slow for aos v3 :( one hp more is good but they double thé cost, ok its betterave than thé précédent saurus but not enough for compétitive list, no ? Or one Block of 20 with croak, like thé grave guards in thé actuals lists in légion of blood but thé grave guards are so far more dangerous than 20 saurus warriors, wait and see

I played my first game with the new book yesterday. Had a nice Block of 20 in the middle. They felt great when the Terrorgheist only killed 1 Model with his first wave of attack. Unfortunately they crumbled with his second attack as they took 18 wounds.

@@CalebHastings yeah, not even the mortal wounds on hit, but just the regular attack got through and my opponent had the audacity to roll 3 6's. XD SO my scales reduced the damage from 18 to 15. That still killed basically half the unit. My original plan was to have them in the middle and play his game and just outgrind the Horrors and then try to get Terrorgheist with my Carno with a little help from the Salamander. But those 4+... The Salamander did hit one time in the whole game (not when it counted) and the now slower Carno just got outmanouvered by the Terrorgheist and was stuck fighting the Horrors. And same as in the last Edition I only ever got one of those Jaw attacks through smh.

Yes general consensus...if you're a seraphon player. It never states exactly when you do the bite roll. It says "when attacks have been resolved" the bites aren't attacks. They are an ability so it happens after wounds are allocated.

@@Chance_25 so basically the discussion happened among discord members, and not seraphon players. also, the rule states that bite rolls are made after attacks have been resolved, but the same goes for removing models, models are removed after attacks have been resolved. therefore according to the core rules, you can decide what happens first

Clubs are better right now (because of the battalion that lets them fight from the second row). BUT Spears are probably a better long term bet. Haha I built the unit that came in the army box as Spears.

Warriors feel good as tanky meat shields but they fall short of the roll I want them to fill based on their physical appearance. They are stormcast sized dinozaurs. “Savagery incarnate.” They should be one of the most dangerous offensive troops in the game with a melee profile that puts ironjaws to shame. I wish they would have given them MORE offensive output at the expense of durability. Not glade cannons exactly, but maybe wood cannons. Not flesh tanks.

Nope. I've just been using my old Salamander model... but the Spawn definitely has a bigger base than the Sally.

Both just practice games vs my son and his Stormcast. Usually only play thru the first two or three rounds, depending on the table state. Won one. Lost one. But lessons were learned! :)

I've played them against Tzeentch and SBL. They feel terrible against MWs. Just straight up die against anything that can deal MWs consistently. They haven't had the change to bright for me

they are the best unit in book for me after kroak. but mathwise old saurus were better since they had almost double damage, and still saurus lists were bad, so im not sure about new ones. are you sure bites are after oponnent remove models? im not sure if they comes before he make saves and remove models. if bites are done as you say..... saurus would loose so much worth for me, i would look into lists spamming terradons or chickens!! haha

It says "after attacks are resolved". The bite rolls are not attacks, it's an ability. So it happens after the wounds are allocated, for now.
