​Serato DJ in cahoots with Pioneer DJ for some time now?

It's a little suspicious as to what's going on in the DJ world right now.

I don't think it's a conspiracy. It could simply be that the manufacturers of those older devices simply no longer push driver or firmware updates, perhaps don't address certain security vulnerabilities or quirks in or updates to the USB driver stack. If your hardware is currently working with a given OS and Serato version, it will continue to do so if you don’t change your Serato DJ version and/or OS. The question is did Apple and/or Microsoft make changes on the back end in the OS kernel that makes it hard to support certain older hardware (that can no longer receive firmware updates)?

That’s selfish and unprofessional , pioneer must be bold enough to stand it’s competitors and not running to seek solace by buying serato . Weak minded organization and selfishness. No matter amount of money paid to serato they shouldn’t have sold their product cuz they have contract with others as well. They will pay huge compensation if any of the companies they are affiliated with send them to court.

No problem for me whatsoever I never use serato and I don't think I ever will .virtual DJ is the best

I think your dead on the money ... I've stopped using serato a while ago and don't like pioneerosaurus

I don't think it's a conspiracy or anything. Serato has been going downhill for a long time now. They just hid it really well. It was obvious if you ever called or e-mailed their customer service. They were struggling. Also- what would their future market share even be like? Once Engine came along, they lost their niche as the professional, non pioneer choice. Pioneer is not going to kill the brand- it will exist as their experimental software where they try out and perfect new features before they make their way into Rekordbox. They don't like to experiment in Rekordbox- too many professionals depend on it, they don't like to change it much. Think of Stems- it's more of a hobbyist, open format thing. You won't see a headliner at a festival triggering a stem on a controller...... That's why it took them so long to even appear in Rekordbox. Think of it like a plumber or construction worker- they really don't want their tools to change and they resist change if it does come.
