I know I probably wouldn't be as patient 😅

About Burek the name Yufka is called when you knead the dough, but when you roll out the dough thinly its called "Kora"(the crust) or "Kore" in plural, the burek is usually made from 4 layers of Kora with fats or oil, and in between two of them theres a fill depending of from which is made...in old ways the crusts were mada around 300 grams but today in new ways they make it around 200 grams with filling around 200-300 grams whole "Tepsija"(casserole) of Burek is around 1000 and they usually cut the quarter of 1kilos (around 250 grams) piece...in oldways it was waged at wish how much you want in grams, now its simplified to be fresh and equal to everyone...

👍 Yes. Lots of regional quirky variations of dishes in the U.S. that I consider must eats when visiting certain cities. No disrespect but is a burger with "the lot" recognized as unique/quirky to Australians (from your time living in Melbourne) or is it considered just a modern classic? 😂 Beetroot and pineapple is kind of quirky to me.

The story about eating so much pork here is tied with the Ottomans but the story I heard is that the people started eating pork because the Ottomans have always taken the lamb and beef from Serbs. Frankly, I don’t know if either of them is true but it kinda makes sense. Glad u liked it and I hope u come back. P.S check youtube channel “Charles Cather” he is an American who is living here for 9 years and he has cool videos of everything about Serbia. In English of course.

First fortress on Kalemegdan was built at about year 300 BC. There are parts of the fortress still reminding us of just how old it is. Naturally, no building material can last for over 2000 years, except in dry areas like Egypt, so the walls were constantly upgraded and rebuild especially because the fortress changed hands between Celts, Romans, Slavs, Hungarians, Turks and Austrians and went through many battles, sometimes being almost raised to the ground.
