I really love the dic dub version of sailor moon, and this movie was so cool. One of my favorite sailor moon movies since I was younger and I still love this. even though it was chessy at times and they cut out scenes from the series, I still love the dic dub version of sailor moon. The voice acting has lots of emotions and their voices actresses did a great job.

I do prefer the American original dub version and I grew up that version as well. I bought the re-release dvd of the movie and of course the dub is different. To me the new dub version sounds serious, they don't say much and not that really epic as the other dub version. I know the new dub version kept it to the true Japanese version. But I think they should've put the American dub version w/ the power of love song.

The rights were bought and it was redubbed, so all old versions of the show were stopped being made and sold, the only way you'll find it now is either pirating or getting lucky on ebay or yard sales

@Sailor Moon in terms of voices I agree that dic is better. But in terms of no censorship I like the viz dub better (remember those “cousins” in cloverway? XD). But I wish for the viz dub they brought back Sugar Lyn beard for chibiusa/rini, in English she’ll always be best for rini. Though, I mostly watch the Japanese dub because I like the voices.

Aside from the voices, another reason I didn’t commit to buying the new dub is because the video is cropped at the top and bottom. So we lose some extra detail like their heads getting cropped off.

They ruined it with the 'never'. When she drops the rod, she does it while Fiore is talking, to his shock AND the audience's. Another example of the 90's dub adding in unnecessary dialogue instead of utilizing silence.

I think that added so much power and emotion to the scene actually. I’ve seen all versions. I don’t see how any audience or anybody in general would be surprised that she dropped the rod. The “never” gives a complete angelic and benevolent feeling. We know Sailor Moon is undoubtedly good and will give it all to save her friends. The “never” was like a tall glass of water on a hot day. Hard to explain but I found it beautiful to include. Speaks to her resolve.

The original dub by DIC back in the 90s.

@@ycastillax3 It's taken from the Geneon/Pioneer uncut special edition of the movie. The original Japanese version was there with English subtitles, and the English dub version used the DiC voice actors with the Japanese music track kept intact (including "Moon Revenge" during the climax scene)
