I needed this video right now. I am in a usta tournament this weekend and I made it to the quarterfinals. I was up 3-0 in the 1st set of my quarterfinal match. Then my game just fell apart. I ended up losing the 1st set 6-3. I couldn’t mentally recover in the second set, and ended up losing 6-0… Now I am debating if I should continue to play for 5th place… I am tired mentally and physically, I know Serena would never quit, but I don’t know whether I am going to fight or not. But maybe watching this video will inspire me to play.

You should look deep inside and figure out if you’re really really really in love with the game of tennis. If you are then you will fight on. You can’t quit just because you lost your focus in one tournament--that’s if you truly love the game. I played and I had a fair amount of losses. But I played for the love of the sport. I ended up having to stop due to injuries and illnesses. But my love for the game is still there. Either way you decide I wish you the best!!

She shouldn't have been in half of these positions in the first place. I wish she learnt more variety, changing the pace up etc and extracting errors from opponents instead of just trying to flat out outplay them she should've been more sneaky that way earlier in her career. She was actually doing that at Wimbledon last year in the first few games till she was forced to retire due to that injury
@chanjiewan68232 жыл бұрын
she should have been the best player ever... Oh wait ..she is!! She is human remember that and mentally it is tough being at a high level for every match, plus nerves and pressure being in the position she is and was.
@zaneramjeawan8042 Жыл бұрын
she should not have been in these situations yes..but the reason was not lack of variety. it was mental. Serena doesn't just hit through people, yes she has natural power but she also uses every inch of the court
