@@carrerau7138 she did, check out her final at the AO against Davenport. She also was known for coming back from bad deficits. See AO semi vs Clijsters and Wimby semi against Dementieva just to name a couple. Also AO semi against Sharapova

@@willybeama1 Steffi won 4 slam finals even though her opponent had served for the match. And 3 more when her opponent just had to serve out the set. Semis, yeah…. against Demented…..

@@carrerau7138 dude, you asked me a question and I answered it. I guess it wasn’t a good enough answer for you. Serena turned around a ton of matches and you need search no further than her match history. I don’t know what else you want.

Ikr? That's what I also thought when I look back every now and then on her level performance during the 2021 AO tournament all the way until she demolished Simona Halep in the quarterfinals. She looked like she is ready to take her 24th GS title, and if she manages to extend that level of form throughout the whole tournament by maintaining the consistency to go through at least seven consecutive grand slam matched with all victories, she would have done it and equal Margaret Court's record. Id really love to see another female tennis champion, albeit a really strong one who makes us proud for having such a great representative in tennis to break Margaret Court's record or at least equalling her most GS tennis titles in singles history. But, she failed to keep up with that same form during the semifinals. I dont think she was being outplayed by Naomi in the most humbling way, because she was far from her best on that day. A true Serena fan or a true tennis fan in general(those who used to watch a lot of Serena's tennis too, if they're not a fan) should be able to realize at what kind of level Serena Williams' performance in her tennis that she could bring and the Serena Williams version at her best is, without a doubt almost impossible to beat. Even if she's nearly around 55%-70% her top level, she wouldnt go down so easily eventhough she would lose the match to a better player that day. Her match against Naomi was a match she lost miserably due to her lack of mental preparation towards her approach over the match and the primary cause of her loss is her lack of self belief and her struggle to maintain her composure as she realised her challenge was her inability to find a quick and clear problem solving answers in her attempt to beat and breakdown Osaka's game. If she was able to keep herself on hold by thinking with her head calmly and maintaining her main focus and composure, she could have increased the intensity level that she was known for by winning her coming from a set behind victories so many times, a special trait that Serena used to show us how she can create opportunities through her tactics in between those points and change the way she plays with her dominant groundstrokes when it was necessary to create more points and allowing herself some longer rallies to find her way back into winning the match.

Yes the match in 2021 against Osaka Serena looked flat not the way Serena usually play. Shocked she never picked up her game in the match. Since Serena came back from her pregnancy in 2018 she was never the same, despite reaching four Grand Slam finals and 2 semi finals. Player like Osaka usually make Serena get better but the difference was when competing she's not young anymore
