@janicementore1497 Yes I pay $11,249 annually for homeowners insurance. My taxes are low because I bought my house almost 25 years ago so that offsets my high insurance cost because Florida only taxes you on the original cost of the house and increases 2 to 3 percent a year. I also have double homestead exemption which further lowers the tax amount. My house has appreciated 4 times what I paid for it but I only pay $1800 in taxes. Others on my street are paying between 7 to 9k a year because they purchased at a much higher price. My house will soon be paid off so I'm thinking of self insuring. I know many people doing this.

How’s Florida sounding now? Florida doesn’t have the appeal or cache it once enjoyed as the “Sunshine” state. You pay to live in “paradise.”

These homes have most of the land in the front yard. That is pointless. The bedrooms upfront. No way. LEDs aren't good for you. These new houses have no character at all. Ugh
