Makarovs first season in the NHL with Calgary he played on a line with youngsters Gary Roberts and Joe Nieuwendyk. Nieuwendyk had his best season of his career, point wise, playing with Makarov and finished the season with 95 points including 45 goals . Gary Roberts best season before playing with Makarov was 38 points including 22 goals. Well in 89/90 playing with Makarov, Gary Roberts would also have a career year (up to that point in his career) playing with Makarov and put up 72 points including 39 goals. It goes without saying Sergei Makarov left a big impression on Gary Roberts and Joe Nieuwendyk.

В Сан Хосе была тройка Макаров-Ларионов-Гарпенлев. Шведа Гарпенлева канадцы в шутку тоже называли русским из за окончания фамилии на ов. Сергей Макаров на мой взгляд лучший хоккеист за всю историю хоккея. Техника владения клюшкой, катание, дриблинг. Он никогда не жадничал, забивал и отдавал.

Makarov was known as "The Russian Gretzky" in Canada and the USA back in the 80s before he came to the NHL, not only for his talent but for the many league scoring titles he won in Russia, just like Gretzky did in the NHL.

Makarov had a connection to Calgary before he actually joined the Flames. In late December of 1986 into January of 1987 Sergei Makarov and the soviet team played a tournament in Calgary called the Calgary Cùp with many other future NHL players like Brett Hull, Joe Nieuwendyk, Dominik Hasek, Fetisov, Cliff Ronning, Zarley Zalapski, Corey Millen, Jiri Hrdina, Larionov amongst others. The Soviet team and Makarov won the Calgary Cup. Then in February of 1988 Sergei Makarov and the Soviet team played in Calgary again for the winter Olympic games. Makarov and the "stacked" Soviets would take home the Gold medal at the Calgary Olympics. Then in another very ironic situation in September of 1989 Sergei Makarov got to join the Flames for his first season in the NHL right in Makarovs hometown of Moscow and the Soviet Union. The Calgary Flames toured the Soviet Union that September of 1989 and it was the first time an NHL team had played games in the Soviet Union. Calgary played several games in Moscow, Leningrad, Kyiv and Khimik. Makarov took his new Calgary linemates Nieuwendyk and Roberts and showed them around Moscow, taking them to his home and meeting his family.

Желаю успехов,в этом году не очень хорошо выступили на ЧМ,но потенциал есть,в следующем году надо возвращаться в дивизион 1A.

А недоделанный "профессор" как блоха скакал, пытался к нашим пристроится. Сначала возле крутова, потом макарова... не вышло, попросился чтобы фетисов приютил... вот уж у кого левые титулы, так это у этого проходимца. Единственное, то мне в нем всегда нравилось, это то ,то он не ссыкун. С его 70 кг рикогда не боялся борьбы. И ему было пох... бьют его или нет. М игрочишко явно переоцененный

Зачем же так,Игорь отличный центровой,прекрасно дополнял Сергея и Владимира,его вклад в успех сборной и ЦСКА неоценим.

@@aleksthegreat4130 Макаров был Лидером Пятёрки: Фетисов - Касатонов - Крутов - Ларионов - МАКАРОВ. Также как Харламов был Лидером пятёрки Петрова.

@@alexwestkailas Я это отлично помню,именно Сергей был лучшим нашим(не только нашим) игроком 80-ых,но и его партнёры по пятёрке были выдающимися хоккеистами. Тройку Петрова я не помню,только то,что смотрел в записи здесь,но результативность Бориса Михайлова и Владимира Петрова была не ниже чем у Валерия,который был очень ярким хоккеистом. Но и его ровесники, спартаковец Александр Якушев и динамовец Александр Мальцев,не уступали им в классе.

Ты или не понимаешь хоккей и никогда в него не играл. Ларионова не зря называли профессором. Он был центром. А центр такой пятёрки и тройки, должен быть мозгом команды, тройки, пятёрки. Ларионов всегда брал интеллектом. И его признавали одним из лучших не только наши, но и канадцы. Не зря после Сан Хосе, где он играл с Макаровым, он проявил себя в Детройте с Фёдоровым и Козловым, где Боумен создал пятёрку Фёдоров, Ларионов, Вяч. Козлов, Фетисов, Константинов. Причём при живом Фёдорова, ещё одним центром, он поставил в центре Ларионова

Нет, ну вы явно ошибаетесь! Ларионов весьма прилично в НХЛ играл! То, что не ссыкун😃, соглашусь, то, что его бьют, ну, как минимум не похую, однако духа в нем хватало аж на пол Детройта, точно...
