I know of no other piano concerto that is literally all over the keyboard for much of the duration. The amount of leaps are astounding. And the entire keyboard is utilized much of the time.

No cabe duda que Prokofiev fue un innovador. La imaginación, figurismo y destreza son evidentes en cada obra suya. Respecto a Kissin, hombre serio, enfocado y virtuoso en sus interpretaciones.

The expressive power of the sound architecture breaks with any form of transcription of the real to attach itself to the expression of an explosive universe. Colors and rhythm of these compositions are a language that gives life to exaltation

Agreed. Kissin’s playing is infinitely richer and imaginative than Argerich’s or Yuja’s. Kissin brings so much context to the music, and didn’t play it like it’s just another finger exercise or a marathon olympics.

Nice, but my favorite version of Prokoviev piano 3 was at the London proms some years back, I think with Gergiev conducting the Kirov on a double bill with Shostskovich 4. A great concert, trawled radio 3 and youtube but looks like the recording has disappeared into thin air.

Although I could never in my life play like this man, I still think I have heard better performances of 3rd Prokofiev Piano Concerto 3rd Movement... don't flame me, just an opinion.. too slow, too sonorous, not enough pedal, and a bit militaristic..

maybe you prefere these versions because they were the first versions you listend to and therefore you think it has to sound like this and not faster or slower... or you just became so used to the old versions that the new versions sounds weird to you

@WilliamSlaght
@WilliamSlaght 7 жыл бұрын
VanoArts I know a friend's friend who went to a masterclass with her. She asked one question about how to remember all this music, and Argerich basically replied saying that you have to see a piece as a story whether purely emotional, romantic, impressionistic, about beauty, a mix of some or all, and etc. other than just music, notes on a sheet, one needs to understand the story.
