Cindy Doggett here. Great video. Ok , I told you I was tense about using my Evolution serger last week or so. Just scared of it. Well You said you would give some pointers and just email you. I watched and watched your demos..I read and reread the books, I finally got the courage to REThread the machine..oh my. I started out fresh and guess what. I can serge. 4 thread overlock. I did it ..I did it. I made 28 dog and cat mats from donated old flannel and yards of fleece pieces and yards of Terry towel material. My serving looked like crap but it got better and better.!!!! Today I made 4 pillowcases and beautiful stitches.. 4 thread overlock.. hooray for me..

I’m soooo happy for you! It just takes starting and you did! It’ll only get more fun from here. You didn’t just start you made so much!! Isn’t it wonderful!? It doesn’t matter if it’s not perfect. It never is in the beginning. You should be very proud of yourself and I’m so glad you shared it with me! You need to keep me info’d on how you’re doing and what you’re making. Deal?

@@melindabigleysewblessed Yes I will keep you informed. I have this used machine since 2014. Never used it till I took 3 classes . Well we made things like a apron and baby burp cloth. Just was not staying with me . I would go home after a class and by that next week it was all mush on what was what and how to run it. But I am more confident now and the stitches look good. The baby lock is a great machine. Oh, i broke a needle and replaced that all by my self... Reading the book to do things right. It broke because the thread was not feeding correctly. I ignored the thread overhead pull. But all good. Enjoy your videos so much.

Thanks for the great tutorials! That bodkin may be called a double-eyed needle and Havel's makes one. To avoid a fold under the stitches after you pull them open, would it work to place the fabric a bit more to the left of the cutting blade, taking less fabric in the stitch?

I think you could do that if that’s the look you’re going for. Give it a shot and see what you think! Let me know how it turns out. 😊
