Agree. Except, as an organist myself, who appreciate* the work and effort needed to play this piece, and who use* the language somewhat pedantically, knowing the subject for appreciating (and indeed using) is "I" and not "organist", I do not talk of an organist who appreciates (because that would be another organist, and third person).

@@beaufighter245 You wrote, "as an organist, who appreciates the work....". The subject of the sentence is "I", even though the pronoun is omitted. You would not write, "I appreciates". You would write "I appreciate". In effect you are saying "(I) as an organist, who appreciate...". The subject of the sentence is NOT "organist". "Organist" is what you are, which in this sentence is the omitted first person "I" since you are speaking to us.

@@stevekake3359I'm not an expert, but can give some answers. Left and right are independent. If more buttons go down, it can be either that two buttons are linked to allow playing the same note from different positions, or one button can be linked with multiple buttons to allow multiple notes with one button. There are many different types of accordeon, with different layouts that can be easier and more difficult to play, as well as specialized to be more suitable for specific types of music.

Brilliant… casts a completely new and different light on this instrument. Sometimes hearing a piece of music in a slightly unorthodox context can bring forward delightful and previously unheard aspects, much like a richly-faceted jewel stone reveals a new face with the slightest change in viewing angle. A further indication of true artistic genius, regardless of what particular media communicates it.

Imagine a missionary in early times’ first cognizance of a means to import such a “fixed” aspect of European “high church” into the most remote and primitive corners of the earth; NOT from a 64 foot pipe, but an instrument the size and weight of a suitcase, in the right hands, can perform just such a miracle, and both savanna and jungle may now be graced with everything from Handel’s “Messiah” to appropriate accompaniment for “Adeste Fidelis”… A game-changer by any definition.

This is among my favorite presentations of Bach's Toccata and Fugue. I don't think I ever understood the dynamics of the composition until Alexandr. I think of Landowska's famous quote, "You play Bach your way, I will play him his way." This must be Bach's way.

A response to Jim Robin. This is one of the reasons why so many people are turned off classical musical and their out of touch and outdated supporters. Let other musicians play Bach ,Brahms and Chopin on their chosen instruments. This accordion player did a masterful performance on a demanding piece off music on a difficult instrument to master. There is nothing wrong in playing Bach on so called folk instruments. I would rather hear this piece played expertly on the accordion than being played in a mediocre way on the organ or piano.

Also I never saw an accordion like that before, so to the designer(s) and maker(s), you built a whole pipe organ into a fire bellows, and this bloke learned to play it. This is absolutely my favorite all-time Classical piece. I've heard it played on spinets, synthesizers, Pianos, and pipe organs. This is the first time I have ever heard it played on an accordion.
