As an American, I’m a bit torn on Dest coming to Chelsea. I think he would fit Tuchel’s system great since the wingbacks are so involved offensively but I know he still has problems defensively. He’s highly technical going forward but he gets beat off the dribble to much for me. He’s still young though so hopefully Tuchel can improve his defensive abilities. If you put Kante and Chalobah next to him I think he could flourish offensively. Hopefully he comes here and links up with CP10.

No way USA would have a chance at turning this guys head a decade ago. Not sure if that shows that our standing in the game has risen or the fact that Dutch football is in a shocking state at the moment. I have been out of the loop for a couple years on the usmnt, boy was I surprised to see all these young kids playing at top clubs in europe in the team. Good stuff.

With the arrival of Emerson, and our own US fans being too objective for their own good and not seeing the real problem here being too supportive of this ensuing developments related to this, Dest is in real danger of not having a future at Barcelona past this season, where he may ride the bench...all this may be an illusion and our Barcelona dreams for our players may die for yet another 5-10 years, if not 20 or however long it takes for Barcelona to value our market and our players. Barcelona mishandle their players, we know this, but Americans? We might as well give up on their respecting our players for a while. They are short-sighted careless bastards, and these are one of the few top clubs that gave our guys a chance🤦‍♂️ We should be openly and actively supporting our players online through social media and letting their clubs know that we are watching carefully, whether it makes a difference or not, but it could like it has for Pulisic at Chelsea, Tuchel couldn't ignore us and Pulisic himself did his part proving he was still better than most of his options. Dest needs that same support and chance, it's freaking Barcelona FFS

Emerson is gone now and Dest is thriving under Xavi. And we’ve seen how his absence has really affected us so much vs Frankfurt & Levante today. I can’t wait for his return which is most likely this Thursday according to Xavi. I hope to god it’s true cause we desperately need him.

@@superjasim I see that as well, but I'm always looking to the future, and not just next week or the next game. For example, for a few weeks I did feel joy that he was producing and thriving, but then he gets injured, and right after I see the transfer rumors (player swap for Lewandowski, possible transfer to Leeds, etc). I don't know how true they are but I know this is all possible. I'm incredibly upset about this and how could i *not* be, like, leave my guy tf alone! Mazraoui isn't coming anymore. Dani Alves is still great but he's almost 40, and Sergi Roberto is not a real fullback. The guy was growing, they should let him f'ing keep growing with the club. Don't rush him back, let him come off the bench this week unless he's really ready. Last thing anyone wants to hear is that he gets hurt again, and so soon on top of that.

@@KenDaKingArrives like you said, Mazraoui isn’t coming anymore and Dani is almost 40. There’s absolutely NO WAY they’d even think about getting rid of Dest. No chance. Just hope he stays fit. I have faith in our new medical and physical trainer teams.
