I loved the story Arnold Schwarzenegger told that when he fist saw Sergio in person backstage at the 1969 Mr Olympia. How Sergio was so huge that he went into a mild state of shock and disbelief !

jerrystone Arnie talks about it in his book Education Of A Bodybuilder. Here you go: "I rushed to the Mr. Olympia contest. I entered the dressing room the way I'd been going in everyplace lately, like I was just taking over. Then, for the first time, I saw Sergio Oliva in person. I understood why they called him the Myth. It was as jarring, as if I'd walked into a wall. He destroyed me. He was so huge, he was so fantastic, there was no way I could even think of beating him. I admitted my defeat and felt some of my pump go away. I tried. But I'd been so taken back by my first sight of Sergio Oliva that I think I settled for second place before we walked out on the stage. Interestingly enough, Sergio beat me only four to three, and that was a surprise. I thought he should have beat me seven to zero. I never like to admit defeat, but I thought Sergio was better. There were no two ways about it." I've never read Arnie say anything negative about Oliva. He always praised him.
