Some just like the look and enjoy their lives the way it is. Also, I am very content with how I look and I'll even piss you off even more idol worshipper. I wouldn't want any other physique but mine. Well, in Easter Europe strength athletes have been training with that philosophy for decades. Personally, I achieved my best results in terms of size and strength while working with two Kazakh trainers - one of them was a powerlifter, about 5'10 (178cm), 190lbs (85kg), I saw him bench press 420lbs (190kg) for 5 reps for several sets with perfectly controlled form.

I had severe knee pain from squats and front lunges .... I stopped squatting for a while . I only did high reps on leg press and leg extensions for like 4 months ...I don't have any pain anymore ... I am back squatting now but I always do high reps on leg extensions first before I squat .... The main reason I had knee issue is I was not warming up my quads on the leg exntension machine ...Warming up meaning doing 30 reps per set ( 10 reps outer, inner and straight ) ...Try that It may help you ...Is quatted for too many years since 1993 .. Sometimes you gotta step back to move forward ... Give your joints some rest to get back on track .

My childhood hero and still is! One comment tho; you DO grow from the negatives - gymnasts are the perfect example of it. They don't lift (curl, etc.) like a bodybuilder, and look at their biceps..
@morecharacterswithamix90674 ай бұрын
Yep, slowing negatives actually help prevent injury along with building muscle. When you slow negatives it becomes harder to use the same weight. So you are forced to use a bit lesser weight to get close to failure for same reps.
@DateandElevate-ju7lj3 ай бұрын
Gymnasts imo are a bad example. People forget gymnasts are actually tiny compared to how strong they are. They do freaking maltese. They generate like triple the force a top natural bodybuilder can. Don’t get me wrong many look great. But the level of intensity in their training and strength are both so high that their training is SUPER inefficient for big biceps. Chen Yibling for example one of the goats. He looks great. Training 6 hours a day for decades elite genetics. Bodybuilding hard for two years for 6 hours a WEEK and guys with merely decent generics could look similar.

I used to disagree with some of his methods ie. Not doing negatives. Once i learned about Fred Hatfield and CAT or dynamic effort method its balistic and explosive. Its about the speed of the lift. So youre stimulating your fast twitch without taxing your joints. Its a controlled negative but not super slow and the weight has to be moderate in order to have the rep speed be fast. Its actually a genius method that works great for powerlifters but he used it for bodybuilding.

Hmmm, I am not so sure I agree with his view on eccentric component (negatives) of lifting. He knows his stuff so I will have to look a little deeper but my current understanding of the benefits of the accentuating the eccentric is the opposite of his, that is to say, it greatly induces growth and tendon/ligament strength. I saw a few other comments expressing my sentiments but someone else with a different take on mine please hop in and give me some feedback, meaning, am I missing something here?
@salj.5459 Жыл бұрын
Eccentrics and isometrics are great for working the tendons. So yes, that's the one thing he is wrong about. HOWEVER, if you are doing heavy eccentrics with a weight you are ready to handle yet (egolifting), that is when tendon tears are most likely to occur. Eg. preacher curls

Some of us use the gym as a "mental exfoliation", which is why we work out 2 hours per session. It's actually very HEALTHY to do that. You build endurance, mental fortitude, and some of us are genetically built for it. I personally know the EXACT time my body has had enough because it lets me know. Any "quitting" before that makes me feel like I've cheated myself and gotten lazy. I'm gifted with natural cut and lean muscle, so there's no need for cardio, especially with my physical day job. But I spent 2-2 1/2 hours at the gym each session because my body loves being there. I've never tried gear, never will, but people have asked me what I'm on because I'm 51 but in much better shape than guys half my age. Some of us just have minds and bodies that belong in the gym for 2 hours or more.

One basic thing about the traditional African American diet, that is not widely known to rest of the world, is the importance of vegetables and greens. Yes the meat is there, and quite a bit of healthy starches and fibre also. That is a big reason behind how so many “country strong” athletes emerge out of rural America and the South. Stimulate, Don’t Annihilate Train hard but smart-don’t destroy your body. Overtraining leads to injuries. Use Free Weights Over Machines Free weights are safer and better for natural movement. Machines can force unnatural motions and cause injury. Age Adjustments As you age, lighten weights, focus on form, and train consistently to keep muscles and joints healthy. Pre-Exhaustion Technique Use lighter isolation exercises (like leg extensions) before heavy lifts (like squats) to protect your joints. Don’t Overdo Negatives Control the weight, but avoid super-slow reps-they can hurt your tendons without helping muscle growth. Balanced Training and Rest Train each muscle group every 4-5 days with rest in between. Avoid long gym sessions. Consistency Beats Extremes Build muscle slowly and sustainably over time. Avoid the "beast mode" mentality. Train Stubborn Muscles Often Train calves 4-5 times weekly because they’re used to regular work. Focus on Fundamentals Stick to proven exercises like squats, presses, and dips for effective results. Prioritize Longevity Avoid unnecessary heavy lifting to protect your joints and stay strong for life. This method ensures you can build muscle and stay injury-free, even as you age.
