The most efficient ones are definitely: headbutter(good danage and speed) the samurai(good damage and deflection) and the flintlock,(range) Honourable mention: Ballooner(if fall damage was just a bit stronger he would've been a good unit) Skeleton warrior(it is definitely meant to be mixed with ranged units alone it's kinda useless

I think that’s because the balloneer saved their live by dealing some extra fall damage. Plus, the other units all attacked shogun once he fell to their head, letting the other units have a head start.
