which is freaking awesome! only way id see that helping in this match would be to rush a tower full of archers to take them out. 3 catapults got him through the shit defenses of the german and the walls were not enclosed anyways so just walking around worked haha

yesterday i played my first stronghold MP match and got fucking wrecked in the first 5 minutes cuz of no peace time, burning carts and mercenaries. last time I host a lobby with that setting haha I have been playing since 2002 but only with AI so I have a slow play style

gotta admit you're pretty bad, dried the first stronghold crusader though and im pretty sure the best strategy is being sedentary at first then unleashing hell on your opponent= lots of food and self sustain ability and when you're ready use all forces on an attack (including defenses)

Well that's the RTS genre for you but there is a reason it's like that but I'm not going to write a novel. Basically if you wan't to play like that then play with friends who abide by the same rules. If you play with randoms online then expect to be up against players all about efficiency and winning. I don't prefer to waste two hours of my time for the same end result that will be just as quick as if I were to finish off someone within say for example 15-20 minutes, it varies from game to game. A game like stronghold I can understand the appeal to actually play with some friends and build a proper castle with walls to hold fun sieges and build up your economy but online agains't strangers? It would be dumb to expect the same. I don't judge as I don't care how other people play, just a game and having fun is important than stressing about it. If you wanna get competitive you need to adapt to a new style other than turtling though and while that might sound dickish, it's straight up and to the point honest.
