Do you know how easy it was to be a serial killer in the 70s,80s, and little into the 90s? Your neighbour could be throwing out the trash (dead body) and you wouldn't be found out until years later or not at all. Something tells me there are many more serial killers who weren't caught than there are documentaries on those that were.

In October 1972, Edward Wayne Edwards, a paroled criminal and 'the Serial Killer You Never Heard Of', appeared on the television game show To Tell The Truth, claiming to be reformed and denying ever having committed any murders. He may have been responsible for the murders of Beverly Allan and Larry Peyton in Portland, Oregon, in 1960. Edwards was eventually caught and convicted of murdering at least five people between 1977 and 1996, and is suspected of several additional killings. Edwards' own daughter said there are at least five to seven more murders Edwards committed and "who knows beyond that."

Thank god that girl refused to go on a date with him. She would surely have been added to his pile of victims

I get that the first victims parents want to protect their kid, but at the same time, you have to let them testify in court don’t you? I would think holding the criminal accountable and having them locked up would make someone feel much safer than just moving and having that person that did it out free?
