It's so sad how realistic Omori is. Losing a loved one really hurts so much and it takes a long time to overcome the death of that loved one. I literally cried watching this scene for the first time.

Nope more depressing thing is that you cant undone what you did no matter how much you want. For kid it was traumatizing and despairing situation. As it was in the game: "you dont know what should you do. she just needs some rest...". The most realistic thing is sunny's emotions and actions

⚠️warning major spoilers ahead⚠️ The thing is there's a theory i don't really know if it's proven so I'll call it a theory so the black thing with an eye behind sunny is a actually mari ( the black stuff is her hair blocking her face and the eyes represents mari's opened eyes ) the theory is basil and omori killed mari not knowing she is still alive and they realised it when they saw her opened eyes but if she is alive that time it would have showed some struggle due to the hanging her thingy

Playing this part of the game breaks you. It shows that no matter what Sunny thought, you could see how he felt Mari would feel was wrong. That she loved him through and through and that even though they saw each other’s bad sides, they still loved each other

Y'know during the Omori playthrough I noticed a minute detail In the final duet, the piano is completely and utterly perfect, whereas the violin The violin is shaky by the end, mistakes were there, its still not perfect That one detail by the end made me break in soo many ways, even after all these years Sunny is still not perfect in the violin segment, even in the memory he is still not perfect whereas his dear sister Mari is still perfect It just portrays the fear Sunny had so well, Sunny broke the violin because of how much it hurt him, how the mistakes were the things used to scare him soo much and how Mari used to get sad when Sunny used to do a mistake, the severe pressure that Sunny felt Conveyed by those mistakes it is so beautiful to me R.I.P Mari Even though many people consider games to be nothing more than something to be used and thrown, Omori cancels that pov completely, and opens the path between a game and a new world.

The shaky notes of the violin are actually called vibrato, and it’s more on the intermediate/advanced level of violin. Sunny didn’t have bad notes, but instead had more advanced ones. This could mean that Sunny really cared for Mari, learning the violin for her, practicing as much as he could. But the shakiness of the tone can still represent how Sunny dealt with the loss of Mari.

The first thing I thought when I saw this scene was, “They were all so happy, and this happened. And nothing can undo that.” It made me feel like I was actually Sunny, and I was going through the process of accepting what truly happened. I accepted that Mari, a FICTIONAL CHARACTER. Had died due to unfortunate circumstances, and even if I want to bring her back, and let everyone be happy, I couldn’t. I felt so immersed in the story at that point, I felt that Kel, Aubrey, Hero, Basil, Mari, and Sunny were all real people, and they were my real friends, and I was there grieving with them. This game overstepped boundaries that not a lot of games have done before, and it’s the feeling you get when you’re so engrossed in a story that you forget about reality, you genuinely feel like you’re in a different life. And it’s so heartbreaking. Omori was probably, if not the best video game portrayal I’ve seen of mental illness, trauma, grief, and forgiveness. It made me feel such convoluted, such indescribable feelings, and it felt like a personal attack sometimes, especially in Black Space, especially in the room that kept on repeating, “Sunny, I love you.” And you hear a distorted piano, it’s such an indescribable feeling that you get when you’re trying to exist with trauma. You look at it, and you feel confused. You kind of just sit there, and listen to it, and feel it, but you don’t ever answer it. You just hear, “Liar, Liar, Liar.” And you’re so lost at that point, you don’t even know how to feel anymore. Fear? Surprise? Anger? Joy? Sadness? Disgust? What did those feelings ever do in trying to make you feel better permanently. All you have is neutrality. Also the room where it shows Sunny’s sad saying, “You aren’t my son,” when you’re a child, and your lost and confused, it makes these moments more difficult to understand more. Sunny just wanted to talk to his dad, and his father told him that he isn’t his. Because of a mistake. And Sunny tries to process this by experiencing it as a child again. This is such an amazing portrayal of trauma, I got bullied a lot in middle school, and it still hurts me today, and I’ve had dreams of me reliving the same trauma I felt. It’s horrible, and you feel the most amount of loneliness you’ve ever experienced in your entire goddamn life. It’s so wrong. That’s what makes this scene so impactful. Sunny, who is a stand in for the player, processes the grief that he felt. He accepts that it’s there. That he will ALWAYS feel hurt by this thing that happened, and that life won’t ever be the same. But that isn’t the end. And Sunny helps us, the player, grieve with our hearts grief, of whatever trauma or Something everyone playing has. The character transcends fiction, and enters reality. I love the game because of the ending especially, it says basically to the player that friendship, as long as there is always faith, or hope, of something lingering, it will always prevail somehow. I know it’s cringey, but love is the strongest emotion. It motivates someone to hold onto life, against losing everything and everyone. We see it in Omori, as we see a small daisy in the rain, and how somehow, against all odds, this flower, a flower that symbolizes faith, continues to hold on. I still hold onto the faith that one day, I’ll become friends with my best friend one day, and that faith still lingers in my head, and I hope that one day, it’s hope will be answered, and we will become friends again. You are always responsible for that you have tamed.

What makes this scene sadder for me is the song. I feel like it's based off Married life from Up. The beginning being a happy Upbeat song while watching the 2 grow up and live together, then when stuff started to get bad the song got slow and depressing. Kinda like this scene here... Watching them grow up, making friends, loving each other as friends and some to lovers, then when stuff started to get depressing the song's Key changed, slower, and matched the moment of the scene, Slowly building up to Maris death..... Edit: In the movie there were 2 slow depressing slow downs in the music. Just realised theres also 2 here... As someone with trauma and PTSD, Omori represents trauma so well. Of course, everyone experiences trauma differently, but just the overall representation is perfect. It just, it hits so damn deep, and represents the struggles of trauma, and it’s just so well done. Love it so much, but it still makes me ball my eyes out 😅

I love that the scene brought so much emotion that almost anyone who fully played and understood everything will break down and cry. Love you showed both women and men playthroughs, it really showed this scene can really mess you up. Unfortunately, i cannot cry as much for some reason but i do feel overwhelming amounts of sadness and will at least make a tear. Such a beautiful story executed in a great manner.
