For those who want to know why everyone is talking about stairs.. ( WARNING: SPOILERS ) Sunny ( main character ) and his sister, Mari, argued about the recital they were supposed to perform ( they were supposed to perform the song they're playing in this video ). He accidentally pushed her down the stairs, resulting in her death. Sunny is now afraid of going up or down stairs, especially during the night when his hallucinations are most prevalent. *The rest is extra information that isn't related to stairs, but ill still explains it in case anyone is curious.* Basil, one of Sunny and Mari's friends, was in shock and refused to believe that Sunny killed Mari. Basil came up with an idea. They faked her suicide and hanged her on her favorite tree. When they left, they saw one of Mari's eyes looking at them, which permanently traumatized them even more. Their friend group eventually split up due to Mari's "suicide."

I just wanna say that this cover is genuinely BEAUTIFUL and I find myself coming back to it far more often than I do the original song. This cover makes me cry everytime and I haven't even played Omori. I know the story of Omori though and this song is just heart wrenching. What makes Omori depressing is the fact that something like this can happen to anyone, and although exaggerated, the events that take place in the game will, likely have happened or will happen to someone in the future at least sort of similarly. I could never imagine living with the guilt of manslaughter everyday, knowing that you are the real reason that your sibling died, yet knowing that if you stop the lie and tell the very people who believe that it was of their own volition, you will be in horrible trouble that will only ruin your life further. Depending on which ending you believe to be canon, Sunny may kill himself from the stress and depression caused by this traumatic event and I just think that it's so fucked up that this really could happen to someone, which, by the way, I'd just like to say: IF ANYONE READING THIS COMMENT IS CONSIDERING HURTING THEMSELVES IN ANY WAY, REMEMBER THAT NO MATTER WHAT, THIS INTERNET STRANGER IS ROOTING FOR YOU! You know, this was actually the video that got me into the Omori fandom! I had seen this video a few times and were wondering why everyone’s in the comments were referencing stairs in the background and saying how it made them cry and all, I never got it so I watched a (short) play through of the game. Now I understand all the comments and can’t resist making an Omori joke when something comes up haha! That aside, great video! Both of your playing skills are wonderful, and sounded amazing! I will be back many more times to rewatch this 🥲
