I think the ending will ultimately be somewhat similar BUT I think they will make enough changes in the middle to make to ride there feel different enough to surprise even book readers. I wouldn't mind, actually.

everything tom has ever said is consistent with s1 and leaks/promos of s2. you clearly haven't seen enough interviews if you say tom thinks he plays ned stark. he said again and again that aegon is a horrible person. that doesn't mean he can't have good qualities
