I also won't be continuing the Me Before You and the Red Queen series! As much as I loved Me Before You, I think the story had a good ending (well... freaking sad but still), I don't feel like something has to be added to the story. And as for Red Queen... I didn't enjoy the book that much to actually want to continue with the series.

I would highly, highly recommend restarting and continuing with the Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy! It's honestly worth it for the writing style alone but the books get much more intense and the world is explained so much more as the trilogy goes on! 😁

It's so sad about Daughter of Smoke & Bone and the Winner's Curse!! The writing is beautiful for Smoke&Bone especially. But I guess it helped that I went in not hearing that much about the hype for both. The second books for both have so many more unpredictable twists and both were pretty addicting to me at least. They are actually both in my favourite series list. I totally respect your opinion though, I have my own series I dislike that people do (like the Selection haha).

I ended reading The Selection but it was painful! I wanted it to end so bad! lol I don't know why I still wanted to read it all! I guess for me it was like not reading the end of the fairy tail...you can't! You have to see the princess ending up with the prince! haha

I'm currently reading the Winner's Kiss, started the trilogy last week. I liked the first book enough to continue reading, though I had my problems with it, but I'm very glad I decided to read the following because I think it's much better! The writing and the plot made much more sense than in the first book, and I loved the character development! I'm now trying to finish the last one, but had to but it down a little because my eyes are still getting used to read so much in a row 😂

Some books (and movies) are designed to make us uncomfortable. They tackle uncomfortable subjects, horrible events, illness, unfairness etc. to make us think, to raise awareness to issues or to show us how bad it was/is for some people in some situations. I can say that Schindler's List made me uncomfortable, it also made me cry, yell and left a hole in my soul. I can say the same thing about the book The Color Purple - reading it hurt - mentally and emotionally (and once physically because I kicked my chair in anger) - it was not supposed to be an enjoyable read, but Alice Walker (the author) made us see the world with different eyes. I am glad I read the book although I still shudder whenever I remember some of the events in there. I think it is important to read books with uncomfortable subjects, think about them, learn from history - especially the bad one - and discover what is important to us :)

Passenger is just a duology so I definitely recommend reading wayfarer, it was absolutely amazing and it wraps up nicely. I think you would totally love it!!!:)

Daughter of Smoke & Bone trilogy is worth reading to the end. I enjoyed how the story developed and the relationships shifted throughout. But I understand that you want to drop a popular series - Personally I don't "get" the hype around Throne of Glass, I have read the 1st book and have no interest in reading any more of the series. Also - leaving Red Queen? I am eagerly awaiting the final in the trilogy, now don't get me wrong they are by no means amazing literature. But I need to know how it ends - I feel so invested in the trashy, chick lit fantasy - anyone else with me?

Love your videos! I am in agreement with several of your selections, especially, The Winners Curse and Half Bad. I have been struggling with And I Darken (The Conquerors Saga) and it may go down as my first DNF. In the past, I had always finished a book I started and only read one at a time. Now, I am much older and want a book to hold my attention. I would recommend that you give DOSAB another shot, as it is a great series and one of my reread favorites, but I respect your opinion. Looking forward to your next video.

They have physical copies of the novellas for Dorothy Must Die. I mean it is a lot of them, I've only read one of the novella books so far and the one about Dorothy's origin was so cool! I haven't read Rebel Belle yet, but I heard it's good! The Program and Angelfall are some others I've heard about, but not sure if I wanna read them. I enjoyed the Me Before You movie, but I don't know if I want to read them. I have Red Queen, but idk if I'd like it. I might try Vampire Academy one day.

Throughout the video i feared that you would mention "The Lunar Chronicles" but Thank God you didn't although I was surprised you don't want to continue with Angelfall. It may have something to do the long wait (this happened with me when i waited too long to buy the sequel after reading "Clockwork Angel") I found Angelfall trilogy in December 2016 randomly browsing through shelves at the local bookfair and I bought it and I devoured it in two days. It was really fast paced and action packed. The idea of dark/evil angels was indeed intriguing.And I don't want to continue with the sequel of "Me Before You". I don't give a f about what happens next. I liked it first but after thinking about it and weighing everything that happened, it just got out of my system.

I won't be finishing the Vampire Academy series either, although I read it up until the 4th book, and I feel the same way about The Giver just like you. Loved this video! I'm currently reading Me Before You and I became a little discouraged because you didn't liked it, but I do love it so far, so I'm not gonna give up. And I also respect your opinion about it, we're not the same, everyone has different tastes.

I agree with you with the Vampire Academy books. i read up until book 5 because my dad wouldn't let buy more books before i finished the ones at home. They kept getting longer and the chapter never ended. My favorite is 2 because it's the smallest one. There was a lot of unnecessary stuff

Omg! I agree so much about Matched. Every booktuber I've ever watched says "Matched was good Crossed was bad" and I'm really confused because Matched was sooo boring in my opinion and now knowing the books only get worse from there I wont be continuing. The physical copy of Throne of Glass was hard for me to get into, I listened to the audio book and it had me on edge. The way that she read it was very captivating. The voice took me a few minutes to get used to but it was amazing.

I loved the last two. I couldn't be stuffed to finish reading the second book of the Red Queen series, however I read and loved the Vampire Academy series and it's spinoff series, Bloodlines. Vampire Academy was actually what got me into reading and eventually paved the way for me to become a book lover. I hated the first book, it took me 2 months to forcefully read because I wanted to make friends with the girls reading the series. I still can't remember the first book. However the second book had torn my heart out and I read the rest of the series in four days. This seried started a beautiful friendship 2 years ago. It was what got me into reading!

i feel like vampire academy was great for younger readers. I remember LOVING this book when i was like 12 or 13 and was obsessed, but now trying to reread the series I can't seem to stay interested in it. It was good during the whole 'vampire craze', but now the hype has kind of just worn off. Great video! :)

I am in the middle of the Program series right now and it amazing!!!! And no suicide is not the main plot, it kind of becomes a thriller and trying to find answers to major conspiracy happening within the series.

Nooooo you didn't like Vampire Academy???!!!! That is not possible..!! Rose is one of the best female characters ever!! She is badass, funny, sexy, learns form her mistakes and grows into a fabulous woman!! The character psychology is really really really well done!! Don't get me wrong I get that we can have different opinions! lol ;) I remember that she really is a brat in the first one but she keeps getting better and better before turning into the most wonderful woman I've ever seen!! I think I'm writing this hoping you would change your mind even if I know you probably won't but I don't know I guess I have to defend the character that had such an impact on the woman I am now! Read Fallen and hated the ending so didn't continue. Read Matched and liked it, read half of Crossed and thought it was so boring so didn't finish it. I've been considering reading Passenger as I've never read a book about time travel but I'm not sure as I've heard mixed things. I've continued with the Red Queen series and I think Glass sword is better than Red Queen, but I get why you don't want to continue with it, it isn;t very original and I've decided to avoid books similar to it e.g. Frost blood. None of the other books you mentioned interest me. I think I need to get better at stopping series; once I've read one I feel obliged to read them all but if I really disliked something I will stop. I didn't finish the Raven Boys series (which I know you really like). I read the first one and found it boring; I didn't connect with the characters at all so I gave it to charity

I can see where some people might not like the first book in VA, but honestly, they don't start getting REALLY GOOD until book 3. That's when shit gets real, reeeeeal quick. It is my favorite series of all time, but the characters grow into themselves just as the story does. I have (almost) an entire shelf dedicated to this series. There are a few books that I agreed with, though (Matched, Red Queen), and some I'm still interested in reading despite certain reviews (Daughter of Smoke and Bone, Half Bad, Winner's Curse).

Here's some series I don't have the desire to finish. 1. The Selection. I liked the first one but I waited forever to pick up Elite and when I did the timing was wrong and I could not get into it. 2 Divergent. I loved the first one and the second one was good. But and usually I don't let movies cloud my judgment, but I got so mad at the movies and heard lots of mixed reviews for Allegiant so I just didn't have the desire to continue. 3. The Chemical Gardens trilogy. Just I had a hard time with this one. 4. Matched trilogy. It was repetitive and just really dull. And I didn't connect with the characters at all. 5. All These Things I've Done. I just didn't like the writing style and the concept was really weird. So I lost interest. 6. The Defiance trilogy. Just didn't really care for this one. 7. The Ruby Red trilogy. It just really bored me. Not much happened and I didn't really care for the characters so I just gave up. 8. A Thousand Pieces of You. It was just a really weird concept to me. I didn't like the characters a whole lot. 9. The Shiver trilogy. Such a depressing series and really uneventful. And the characters are just really dull. Could not stand this series. 10. Anything by Alyson Noel. Just could not get into any of her books.

I liked the first book in the matched series, but the crossed was five chapters of people walking in deserts. I read the whole giver series but Son was my least favorite. I did like how in Son you figured out a lot of the plot twists and empty spaces in the series, but it wasn't my favorite. I loved Red Queen. It took me a couple of tries to pick it up and keep reading. Same for Matched, Red Queen was amazing, but the second book. It was really dull for the first few chapters and hard to pick up. I might give Glass Sword another chance, but if I don't get through it when I pick it up. NO more Victoria Aveyard for me.

I can understand your view on vampire academy, I feel similar (though I did finish it) but the branch off series bloodline novels are much better in my opinion. They seem more interesting and engaging, better characters also.

I think something I love most about booktube is that we all don't like the same things but can all respect others opinions. :) there were a few series on here that I LOVED. But then I'm sure there are a few aerie you loved that I didn't. I loved the Jewel trilogy. The first book was a bit awkward but the rest of the books focus more on the political side and them making a change. :) I also agree on Passenger, I could NOT get into that book sadly, but I wanted to! I love this aspect of booktube that we can all love books but not love the same books :)

I read Ann of Green Gables and then discovered that it is actually the first in a series. I don't plan on finishing the series. I'm very content with it after reading the first one. I also won't finish the My Side of the Mountain series after reading and beefing satisfied with the first or the Hatchet series. I know these aren't exactly YA but I also enjoy good juvy chapter books as well.

it took me soooo long to finish the half bad trilogy (is it called that?). i liked the first book but wasn't blown away. i wanted to finish reading it but i didn't want to spend my money on it so i had to wait for the books to get to my local library. i don't live in an english-speaking country so it generally takes a long ass time for a book to be translated and then stocked in the library, especially if the series isn't wildly popular. long story short, i finished it like a month or two ago and i honestly thought it was okay? it was a pretty fun read but i'm glad i didn't actually buy it. no real special feelings about this series really. the ending really pissed me off but i kind of didn't mind that because it was probably the only real emotion that the series made me feel. oh well, i'm still quite glad i finished it.

I agree with the Matched series-- though I did read the whole series, the first book was slow and it got even slower after the first book. I am shocked with the Dorothy Must Die series though, it is great if you love horror and gore, I can't say it's my favorite series but it's definitely up there for me. I agree though, I didn't read any of the novellas, I stuck with the main books.
