That would get so annoying I have anxiety tics (not Tourettes!) but they’re not vocal at all and it’s just my head twitching and moving, and sometimes whistles and sniffs but they’re not very obnoxious so I can’t imagine how annoying it would get trying to have a serious conversation with Tourette’s

There’s no thing called anxiety tic your have Tourette’s if you tic so
@00kat008 ай бұрын
@@TallulahssisterIf they don’t have vocal tics then it definitely wouldn’t be tourette’s. A tourette’s diagnosis requires both motor and vocal tics. Other tic disorders do exist.

@@00kat00 you don’t have to have vocal tics for the first year of having Tourette’s and I know that cuz I have Tourette’s and my first year was blinking, snapping, and eyebrow movement
@00kat008 ай бұрын
@@Tallulahssister Ok, but if at the current time they do not have any vocal tics then no, you still can’t say for sure it’s Tourette’s. The diagnostic criteria for Tourette’s specifically states that both have to be present. Other tic disorders do exist: Persistent (Chronic) Motor or Vocal Tic Disorder and Provisional Tic disorder. You can’t hand out diagnoses online based on your personal experience

I had old best friend I met and knew for a year before I moved and he had tics.When we were in class people would quietly make jokes about it but then when we had school assemblies and stuff and people told him to be quiet all of us would say in unison that he had touretts and I sometimes wonder if he ever felt happy when we all did that.I wonder if it made him feel warm inside or if he just didn’t like it.Ill never know

I can't speak for everyone, but it really depends. Sometimes it feels like they can come out of nowhere, but others you can sort of feel it "building up", like how you feel you need to sneeze. It really just depends, not even on specific tics I think it's just pretty random honestly
