People saying this is a disappointing ending. They're not seeing the point. There are people in this world who live their entire lives never knowing what happened to their loved ones. That's the point of the movie. We're left wondering just like her parents.

Some people are labeled gifted as a child but grow up to be nothing. Doesn't mean they should make a movie about it. Movies don't represent real life, hence the expression "it was like something right out of a movie" exists.

Real life doesn't have fairytale endings either, so why are you complaining 🙄
@Hokit7 ай бұрын
@moonluna464 movies don't have to reflect real life 100%. They're a form of entertainment and an outlet for escapism. The audience is entitled to give their two cents. If people behind the film have a problem with anything other than glowing feedback, perhaps it would've better that they limit their audience to like-minded folk.

The dad should have pressed charges on that teacher before moving away. His daughter needed to know that it was HER who was violated and should not feel ashamed. She behaved how any abused teen behaves when their father fail to make them feel secured.

So the girl is only 15 and was groomed by several men for sex by that time. Her parents and brother blame HER for what was done to her, and they are surprised that she hates them, is acting out sexually, and running away? Unfortunately I think its implied this time, it cost her, her life and the family will have to live with that. Very sad movie. Poor Lily. She needed love to heal, not shame. 😢
