Chris and Maryanne...sorry my spelling may not be accurate. Since you already are in India...maybe you can drive to Pakistan next. In the northern part of Pakistan, three mountain ranges converge and there are many beautiful valleys, lakes, glaciers, etc. And from the northern border with China, central Asian countries are within a days drive. Maybe there's a special visa just to drive from that border to a central Asian country! Also central Pakistan, such as, city of Lahore has a lot of Mughal history and architecture. Near Rawalpindi are old ruins of Harappa with Buddhist stupas, etc. I think you might enjoy the country's diversity and hospitality.

Thank you for your brilliant videos. I have a question, I hope you can answer. How or where do you get the motor insurance. I'm in Europe with my car and can't seem to get anything that is over 60 days, or sometimes 90 days from the UK insurance companys where the car is registered. When I inquire in the various countys for renewal, Portugal being a case, then they want proof of a residency and local tax numbers. So when I saw your videos, I got to wondering how you and others doing world travel get insured. Any help or pointers is very appreciated. Thank you.

How did you choose where to eat? When our daughter went she got food poisoning. I love Indian Food in the States but best curry I ever ate was from a London train station convenience store. I would love to go to Indian and try curry and naan bread. Looking forward to your India videos.

One day - this route takes us across from Kolkata to Jaisalmer and beyond as we continue our expedition around the globe and try and find a route open to us - after 4+ years the world situation means things change all the time - but we will share as we go 🚐🌷

Another great video - it's interesting to learn from your experiences as you travel through different countries. One thing that has been niggling me is the distances you quote for your location to the UK - Kolkata is only 5,000 miles to the UK. Where are you getting your distances from?
@TREADtheglobe
@TREADtheglobe Ай бұрын
Hi Jonathan - the miles calculated are the miles that Trudy will travel before she gets back to the finish line - by land or sea. The miles will be less as the crow flies but as we are on an expedition to drive around the world the miles are not as the crow flies - hope that answers your question

Sensory overload for sure! On a different note... The car horn is a form of announcing yourself to the world at intersections and basically others around you. Thats why its so noisy there. Unlike the west where people tend to use it less and sometimes for the wrong reasons. The food? I could just imagine the overwhelming varieties too. I've had the chicken biryani and naan bread where I live and love it. I could just imagine out there in it's motherland. Take care and stay safe treading the world.🙏😊

You both are too kind. I guess it is the British politeness. India ... the beautiful, the good, the bad and the ugly. Oxymoron in itself. Thank you for visiting Malaysia. Stay safe and Blessed journey to you both always.

There is so much to see in this video. I keep watching and pausing. Then I unpause and tap the j button to go back and look some more. One thing I noticed in this video that I have not yet seen in your other videos quite as much is the amount of people approaching you or simply looking at you because you look different and a bit out of place. It was certainly an interesting insight. Thank you for taking us on this journey with you.

On arrival in India travellers may be presented with garlands of marigolds to wear round their necks. I was told by a guide that the marigold garland was not only a welcome gift but a practical one as the marigolds help to deter flying insects who dislike the strong scent of the marigolds.
