Being a care aide in training and read on palliative care, it's kind of cool Sima Yi was acting like he was in total bed care and around probably mid stage dementia since he said his thoughts were escaping him but he could still direct his maids and talk to Li Sheng. Not really done perfectly but just enough to fool Li Sheng. Thought it was cool.

Imma be honest. I haven't been this invested in these types of stories since Eight Princes. You make it very interesting and it helps that I get to know more about characters not from Dynasty Warriors

it's fascinating how armour control in ancient china is a lot stricter than gun control in a lot of places today. chinese martial arts (and a lot of wuxia stories) are also framed by a lack of armour and military-style polearm weapons

This is by far one of the best series I have watched. The camera angles, the characters and of course the storyline. The actors really did great in interpreting their role. If only I could understand chinese. There are alot of great scenes. And Sima Yi is very careful in dealing with the bullying of Cao's clan. In the end he was the victor. Being patient and not overt with power. Exactly what the book of Laws of Power describes as the perfect courtier.

​@@infinitememegod I do believe that is 100% an invention of Romance. iirc, I think there's been a bit of recent tide-change in terms of opinions on Liu Shan, pointing out he did reign for 40 years uncontested at a time when Wu and Wei were both full of coups and deposed/murdered former emperors. I think the general gist of his ruling policy was 'don't suspect people you use', which worked great when he had access to guys like Zhuge Liang, Jiang Wan, Fei Yi and Dong Yun. less so after those guys bit the dust.
