Last times I have done LSD I did it on purpose of meeting my problem to solve it. You really need trusted drug supplier and a nice, friendly and cozy atmosphere when you take it to get the expected result. The last time I took it in the wrong atmosphere and had no good EX, but the time before was huge success. The problems within my psycho I was not able to analyze properly and find the right solution in sober state even when the choice was 1 of 2. During the successful trip I got the revelation, the next day I experienced such a calmness and confidence that I had not had in years, plus a robust plan of what to do with my life next. Last time was 4 years ago, the time before (successful) about 8 years ago. I remember those trips clearly.

@@senseofmindshow so at 15:00 , if you don't think we are tapping into some higher intelligence / higher dimensionality of the mind or consciousness, "changing the brain's state that allows for these things to happen" feels like a cop-out alternative. Why do you think the former is not possible? The chuckle at the idea "if that's what gives you comfort, go for it" sounds demeaning and dismissive.

@@r34ct4 I appreciate you engaging on this issue. I don't mean to come off demeaning. My position on this is that there's just no evidence to support the idea that we're tapping into any kind of higher intelligence. Instead, it seems more parsimonious to me to say that we are simply changing the way our brain works on a temporary basis in a way that drastically changes our experience. When you alter the chemistry of the brain, it's no wonder that you can get dramatically altered conscious experiences. Also, as Taylor mentioned, when people do DMT or have near death experiences, their experiences tend to follow their preconceived notions. That is, Christians tend to report Christian imagery, atheists tend to report feeling at one with the universe, etc. It's also clear that we have hyper-vivid hallucinatory experiences on a regular basis: dreams. Sometimes dreams seem to bring us insights that come out of nowhere, but that doesn't mean that they're supernatural. It's also worth mentioning bad trips and the fact that people predisposed to psychosis have a much higher likelihood of developing schizophrenia after doing psychedelics.
