In case anyone was wondering, Wade was (sort of) correct. Pushing air out of a syringe or IV line is done to prevent an air embolism. Basically, if air is injected directly into a vein/artery/etc., it can form a blockage very similar to a blood clot.
@skepticalparanoidme2 жыл бұрын
Not only that it might actually somehow pop or "explode" if air is pushed on a vein/artery on cases of infants or toddlers.

@@lordmarshmal_0643 unfortunately I'm what is known in my household as a scaredy cat, and I have never seen Halloween or any of its sequels. Case in point, I had thought the only one killing people in those movies was Michael Meyers, but I'm guessing I'm wrong since an air embolism doesn't seem like his M.O. There are three big neurotransmitters to be aware of in human behavior: dopamine, serotonin, and oxytocin. Dopamine is involved in rewards; it's fast to hit and fast to wear off and it helps motivate us in the short term. Serotonin is kind of the long term version of dopamine; it's heavily involved in learning and building associations between things in long term memory. Because of this, it'sslow to take affect and slow to wear off. Oxytocin is often referred to the "cuddle chemical" because it's involved in feelings of safety and intimate connection with other humans. Oxytocin is also fast to hit but slower to wear off. In general, dopamine and serotonin/oxytocin pathways are exclusive to each other so for long term happiness you need to minimize dopamine activation and maximize serotonin activation.

When they started talking about all those 90s educational games and Bob brought up Storybook Weaver, instantly my ears perked up. I didn't remember what the "game" was, but I could recognize the name, and it felt like it was the name of something very important to me. I needed to figure out how I knew this name. I looked it up on Google and I found the original tutorial for Storybook Weaver Deluxe, and all the memories came flooding back. I think this is the most nostalgia I've ever felt for anything. As a 5 year old, I wanted to be a book writer more than anything, and my parents were very supportive of this. They ended up giving me Storybook Weaver Deluxe as a present, and I absolutely lost my marbles. I spent hours writing countless stories in that program. I even have some of the stories I printed out still in my desk drawer. At this point, I'm just a few months away from being 19, and I haven't written anything in years, but recently I've been wanting to get back into writing, and this just added to that desire by ten-fold.
