I’m so excited for the shrimp and fish to be in this aquarium finally! I had to stop editing the video several times to just go and watch them swim around. I can’t wait to see how this aquarium continues to develop. Also, how many shrimp did you think were in the old setup? Let me know, and have a great weekend SerpaSquad!

Transferred 6 shrimp to my new nanotank some weeks ago. Can confirm using a net isn't the best option 🙂. First tank was heavily planted, the new one has mainly mossball structures, thin branches and a few other small plants. It's super fascinating to see the shrimp actually swimming around.

I have a 5 gallon tank exclusively with Blue Dream shrimps that have been reproducing for about 4 years. I started with 6, and now my estimation is somewhere around 50, but there are always tiny babies I cannot see to count. I've considered moving them to a larger home, but they seem quite content, and I don't want to ruin a good thing, so there they remain. Every so often, I prune their plants, clean the glass and maintain their filters, but other than that, they are very low maintenance. I love watching them; they are such lovely, graceful little guys.

I have Cherry Shrimp in a simple 10 gallon with java moss and a sponge filter. I have a light that turns on for the java moss and the shrimp love to hide in it. They eat so much green algae off the glass and off the Java moss that I rarely ever have to give them any food. Over the past 5 years, I've cleaned the sponge filter twice and still have the original bottle of food granules I got with my original 10 shrimp. I've never bothered to count them, but it's easily well over 100. Aside from needing to prune back the java moss, this setup has been one of the easiest aquariums I've ever managed. I could probably leave my house for a month or two and they would be just fine (so long as the moss and algae have light).

I bred Halocaridina rubra for three years, going from 8 shrimp to 1,500. When I moved country, I sold them for S$5 each (paid 3) because they had become uncommon by that point and everybody was looking for them again. Made more than 7 grand, just from having a little tank in the corner of my room, with little input (they ate mostly algae, I did not light, heat or change water in that time. Just a toothpick amount of spirulina powder and some top-up water occasionally. )
