@@ixirion I would say it is because Serral is a statistical outlier, an anomaly even among starcraft players. He keeps winning more often than not, not because Zerg is unfairly balanced, but because Serral is just straight up the better player. It seems like balance changes that occour aren't balanced around the difference in races, but specifically Serral in particular. When you see the amount of 'work' that is required by the Zerg in order to come out on top, I think it would be interesting to see how things would turn out if Serral had the same amount of time invested in other races that he does in Zerg.

I have no idea why Hero even tried the blink stalker all in on game 2, it was completely not needed. You are up 1/0, you clearly have an advantage late game. Just push the game to the late game again, make the same unit comp, and do it again.

You are listening to lowko blindly. Hero won the 1st game not because of some late game imbalance, but because he surprised Serral with his voidray after oracle build and was able to kill 3 overlords while not sacrificing the void. This gave him huge momentum that game.

They managed to make Zerg garbage to the level that Serral, the best player in the history of the game, that is also the best late game player, and the best Zerg against Protoss player, has no chance of winning in late game against Protoss in straight up games unless he is massively ahead from the early game (and currently even this is too hard to achieve without outright winning the game). I hope Zerg will win every single tournament this year. Be it Serral, Dark, Rogue, SHIN, or Reynor, I don't care, I just want Zerg to dominate.

Furthermore, can't I argue that Maxpax himself was not on top of his games when SHIN beat him? He made plenty of mistakes that cost him the game. SHIN is a great player but one series is not enough of a sample size to assert that zerg is strong. Serral on the other hand has been getting weaker and weaker at every new update because zerg itself is getting weaker. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a chart of serral lossed and there was a trend that at every new update the number of losses increases

Shin was forgetting adrenal glands EVERY GAME. I need no further proof that zerg is still extremely powerful. It's the same as if protoss is forgetting blink ever game and winning.

AGREED! they have finally over nerfed the zerg. Step 1. Reverse the queen cost increase. Zerg were already cost inefficient, that move just broke the math Step 2. Reverse the Bangling health decrease, they are just worthless now. Damage reduction, sure, but the health reduction makes they WAY WAY worse then disruptors. Leave the Protoss buffs ALONE Further ghost nerfs EMP does no shield damage either reduce snap damage or add health to Zerg tier 4 units so that it takes 2 snipes to kill one. Snipe is OP

Yeah, for Terran, they need to make siege tank researched again and make widow mine large/take up 4 slots in a Medivac, plus EMP either doing no shield damage or not doing energy damage until shields are reduced to 0, with EMP doing a set amount of damage (AKA 100 damage to shields, and then energy if shields have less than 100 energy at the time).

You didn't even watch the game. How did you skip the 3(!!!) overlords that were lost to a single voidray and not even killing the void. Then losing 6 drones for nothing. This isn't about balance, this is about Serral playing bad. Hero made way fewer mistakes. In the 2nd game he blunk forward for no reason and lost the game. That's what good balance should look like. You make dumb mistakes, you lose the game.

theres tempest, and oracle indirect buff, that goes well with together mothership. which left the zergs counter to airtoss, are either a unit that gets melted by most toss units, or a unit thats useless against ground toss.

Zerg early game definitely got a nerf. Oracles have unlimited energy so harassing with lings is more difficult now, all ins can be slowed by stasis and there are more opportunities to snipe workers. Queens are also more expensive, making anti air defense a little harder. Starcraft is very snowbally, so nerfs to early game can be impactful but not obvious. Hero is still insanely good though, love watching him.
