Serral has great instincts and solid mechanics. He is the ideal Starcraft 2 player. The only times I am seeing him lose are on rare occasions when he completely misreads the build of his opponent or when he is attacked on at least three different sides constantly in the early to-mid game. If you give him a little bit of breathing room, it's pretty much over :D

I think people play his game too much. Like ufc where he's expert standup scoring points with jabs until youre so far behind you need a KO/all in. People need to make the game dirty, crazy, throw him off balance with aggression and throw efficiency out of the window stop fighting him where he's his strongest.

@@theacehd1742 Let's be fair to Serral though. The reason people "play his game" so often is because Serral's scouting is superior to most pro players. But you are right. Build order wins and aggression via timing attacks are probably the best way to beat Serral. That brings the probabilities back closer to 50/50 win loss rate because it's so chaotic. But it's the rare player of any competition who can admit their opponent is superior and play for a draw.

For me as a german, the aussie "no" sounds more like a "no-ö" with the german umlaut ö at the end! Btw, I love if you do a bit of build education upfront. I never really played SC2 but am totally facinated by the pro level of that game! I know, it's thin line and I would roll my eyes too, if a soccer commentator explains "offside" in every match. However, love your style of casting, man! keep it up!

There was a longstanding GOAT debate between Serral and Maru... but it's hard for me not to favor Serral at this point. I feel like Maru's main tactic, late game Iron Bank, has been well countered by various build order wins and aggression. Serral has adapted, no longer relying only on solid mid to late game play to win. Now other pros need to worry about getting cheesed by Serral and I love it! And Serral seems like such a diligent student of the game, studying the way his opponents have beaten him and coming up with counter strategies and builds. I know the other pros are also training hard but Serral just seems to be smarter.

Gotta disagree. While my viewing also isn't comprehensive, I've seen plenty of early pushes recently that turned out as good or better than Cure's in the first game, which certainly did a lot more than just keep things even. Everything I've seen suggests that at least at the pro level, Terran's early pushes are at least as effective as the other races, and come in greater variety, too.

you just havent watched enough. the terran basically has to push early and often against zerg. the flow of TvZ is almost always dictated by the success of terrans initial harassment and initial push.

Forcing delayed construction, non-ideal expansion placement, investment in army/defense instead of economy ... there's all kinds of ways an early push can get value that's not so easily quantified.

I strongly believe that mech terran is still insanely good, the use of planetary i would say isn't enough along with static defense. If you army is immobile and your biggest weakness is being out flanked/being out of position. Why wouldn't you invest in 1 reactor barracks for bunkers with building armor for 6 marines next to a planetary thats quite a small investment that takes ALOT to break. and it secures your position for the base. even building 2/3 in 1 location to ensure that being able to break your base takes long enough where you can gain position on their side of the map, siege, and deal return damage. Ive had INCREDIBLE and success with doing this while building orbitals in the main for supply. The times i die im not very good so obviously im only in plat/diamond leagues. but when it works the end game screens can sometimes be upwards of 2:1 3:1 4:1 sometimes as bad as 8:1 efficiency. Ive had screen shots of 15 minute games where i lose like 1500 resources and they lost like 11k. Personally my build is generally a small dedicated marine push at around 4-5 minutes with maybe a tank or two medivacs if i remember correctly. But while thats happening you want to play it slow because at home your building to expand/build bunkers/secure your 3rd the marine push is ment to cause panic and probably not kill them although sometimes it does. But to make them think im getting ready to go all in. Once you have your 3 bases set up with them clearly secured begin transitioning to mech while establishing anchor points for your bases. setting up planetray's etc getting tanks in well established positions. one KEY AND IMPORTANT PART. is i remain on lower svc count like 40-50 because im trying to build orbitals when i can for supply they amp my income tremendously this allows me to have a VERY out scaled army compared to them and even tho its a bit of a slower playstyle. If its allowed to get set up on 3-4 bases its incredibly difficult to break. the only match up this doesn't really work against is TvT which is auto back out anyways because i play for fun and this game is kinda boring because no veterancy after 6 months. Personally know im not gonna be a 300 apm player so gotta think smarter not faster and I rarely feel rewarded for it.

There’s the same amount of sounds in the American pronunciation Kew-er as PiG’s Australian pronunciation…not sure what those people are whining about, except if they are so parochial as to think the other American pronunciation “Kyir” is the only acceptable pronunciation? terran has ghost and thors to counter all zerg units but people whine and complain that zerg had 1 unit for efficiency in the SH. SH needs to be put back. Bad enough BL's and their blings got nerfed to sht for no reason other than the only way to deal with terrans bs was to use the broodlings to actually wear the terran down, same as swarm host was. The only reason Cure was able to take a map is because Terran is broken, otherwise this would have been content for p0rn sites based on their skill level alone.

@@bobbobby8250 In this tourney, all 3 Zergs in UB got knocked down to LB by Terran, and there were 3 Terrans and 1 Protoss in the UB semifinal i.e. no Zerg in UB. The only Zerg (Serral) left standing was in the LB. Serral just dug in and improved his ZvT after Clem sent him down to LB. Its the player, not the race.

The fact that there is no good answer to mass brood is just insane. Should be able to counter with Vikings but fungal shuts that down. Imagine if airtoss couldn't be countered in the same way. Needs some major rebalancing.

U kidding, right? Thors have 11 anti air range and broods just 10 anti ground. If you ever try to engage 12 broods into 8 thors as zerg (that's equal amount of supply if i not mistaken), you get wrecked in a very bad way as zerg. This is not even funny. Brood is a trash unit nowdays, with a very limited window to achive something. It's just Serral insane micro and timings makes them look somewhat decent. And you rarely see broods in a professional games, at least I rarely see. In last game of the series Serral used them once and then did not rebuild them. For a reason i guess. Despite it should be the T3 ultimate and scary anti ground force. Apparetnly ling bane hydra, lair tech tier, is superior choice. Against inevitable ghosts thors etc.
