I didn't watch these various WCS tournaments originally, but I've been going back and watching them now that Serral won the WCS global finals, making him the first non-Korean to do that in 20 years. He's earned my undying fan-boy-hood for that. Before I started going back and watching these, I wasn't aware that Serral had become such a phenomenon this last year that people were cheering for the "underdogs" against him just because they wanted to see someone else win for a change! Lol! But as I'm watching them I don't feel that way at all, I'm absolutely overjoyed to see the Fin Win over and over. I'm finding it awfully nice to be cheering for a winner for a change! And actually it's not just because I love him forever for beating the Koreans. To me, he's easy to relate to. He's a very good sport, he has great manners, he doesn't hide his emotions at all, or at least they seem pretty plain to me. And it's super common to see him tenaciously hang on and desperately fight back to win from what sure looks like an awful position to me. "Oh no he didn't see the spire! He has nothing to counter the muta ball! His bases are practically bare of any defenses! Now what!?" (How often have I been in that position? I don't want to think about it.) Then he pulls it out and does that double fist pump and by then I'm right there with him. "Y E S ! Incredible job! Wow, I can't believe he pulled that off!" Yeah, I'll be watching that Showtime vs Serral vod next, and no, I don't think I'll find myself rooting for Showtime. Not that I have anything against Showtime, but. Serral's my hero at this point! Long live King Serral! May his reign be long and great.

I am a Protoss fan myself and i almost always root for Serral's opponents but it is GREAT to have players like Serral. People like him will improve every other player because those other players have to go up against this monster who really doesnt miss a beat. I think he might be the cerebrate from Sc1 first Zerg campaign...

The micro that special was pulling off in round 3 was godlike. He somehow was microing tanks, liverators, and ghost seeming all at the same time in a matters of seconds. I have a hard time being able to micro even just one of those units in an army, his army basically comsisted of just those three units. Incredible.

Lol, that prediction turned out well. Turns out, we just didn't know it yet though... This was the rise of the run for Serral, the first of consecutive WCS grand final wins, leading into him winning GSL vs the world vs the best Korean players at the time, to being what many consider to be the best player in the world now. I decided to track back to this first one, and it is interesting, how these casters are still doubting Serral at a number of points. The fear of Serral wasn't in existence yet :)
