Thank you for this video! I have a “basic” first aid kit that I keep with my disaster preparedness supplies, but I have always wanted to make what you have. During our local fire department’s presentation on being prepared, they stressed that even though I might not know how to address the major medical scenarios resulting from a disaster, someone else might(my neighbor is a surgeon). A worse scenario would be EMTs that do arrive on scene might be running low on their own supplies. Videos like this provide a good starting point.

@@matzmopar1 Ehhhhhhh half correct. It's not that we can't use autoinjectors, however we aren't supposed to administer our own/the department's. It has to be prescribed to the patient you are treating. As for the combitube, yeah that's a no-go for an EMT-B.

You need a prescription for an EpiPen, and if this is just his off work bag he doesn't have medical control to allow him to administer EpiPens. While yes that would be amazing, not possible.
@PrimarchSlayer0000Ай бұрын
in a lot of places it's illegal to carry epi in a personal bag as an emt. I know for my area, we can only use epi if the patient already has one. Also epipens are like $800+ and expire quickly so it's not really worth it unless it's for your allergy specifically.
