Its not uncommon for young people these days to complain about the Catholic Church and its dry, old ways. That's why we are seeing many turn to the protestant church, with their young atmosphere, cool music and amazing sermons.
Its a temptation the Israelites had in the desert when they wanted to touch and see God. That's why they made an image of him, a golden calf.
We have to develop our spiritual sense of hearing. Our Lord said unless we eat his flesh and drink his blood we will have no life in us. We have to return to the Eucharist.

After 40 years of living in the wilderness of self interest where faith wasn’t even a thought god waited patiently for me to come to him. He never abandoned me as I did to him but through the gentle interception of our blessed mother she has shown me the light and the way home and I am forever in her debt. 🇮🇪

This is why I kneel on the ground, close my eyes and open my mouth to receive my Eucaristic Lord and King. He is my Bridegroom.

Protestantism teaches that you should read the Bible and the Holy Spirit will teach you what it means. That leads anyone that is honest to the Catholic Church. I am Catholic now. Any well studied Protestants that remains a Protestant does so because they choose to be for personal reasons.

Peter, on this Rock I will build My Church and gates of hell will not prevail against My Church. Jesus established one true religion with his true body and blood in Holy Eucharist. Roman Catholic Church. Welcome home

@@khappy1286 read that teaching in context It is being misunderstood If such teaching were true as you understood it , then the gay pastors promoting same sex marriage and other sins are right , since some go as far as claiming God told them it was ok

From the Church’s early days, the Fathers were unambiguous about Christ’s presence in the Eucharist: Ignatius of Antioch said, “I desire the bread of God, which is the flesh of Jesus Christ . . . and for drink I desire his blood, which is love incorruptible” (A.D. 110). Similarly, “When [Christ] gave the bread he did not say, ‘This is the symbol of my body,’ but, ‘This is my body.’ In the same way, when he gave the cup of his blood he did not say, ‘This is the symbol of my blood,’ but, ‘This is my blood’ (A.D. 405).

Father ... church militant wrote an article on "Communion Service in Drag" .... A priest who served under Cardinal Tobin consecrated hosts for them ....and I can't go on ... It's SO devastating 😭 The FSSP parish I attend has MANY young people and young families ...The Gregorian chant is timeless .... Maybe use the Brébeuf Hymnal ....

I am a 63 yo Irish Catholic who spent half my life as happy clappy born again evangelical charismatic Protestant. But what was emotionally exciting in my twenties became stale in my fifties. A business collapse at sixty left me bankrupt and bereft. It wasn't Protestantism that consoled me but Catholicism where I discovered the real meaning of suffering and understood the Eucharist for the first time. I am now thankful for Protestantism for keeping me Christian in the good times but I love Catholicism for making me a lover of Christ in the bad. Catholic faith is a much deeper pool able to satisfy intellectually the wounds inflicted by todays fallen world.

Thanks Fr. L. For bringing the topic and explaining this difficult issue .As more priests speak about it and clarify this in the light of the Scriptures may make a difference in our vicars . Hopefully they will get back to the desert and reflect on what they are doing . This issue in USA and it's outcome could have a major impact and baptized faithful Catholics must remain faithful . Asi lo quiera Dios.

I will also say that once I learned about my Blessed Mother, I can’t have communion with anyone that doesn’t venerate her. I will never be a Protestant again.

I've heard the suggestion made that bringing back the altar rails, kneeling and receiving on the tongue would help immensely as opposed to going up and grabbing the Eucharist like a potato chip. There is no reverence at all in standing and receiving in the hand and it sends the wrong message. Receiving in the hand was a bad habit that crept into the Church in the 1960's and originated in Europe. The Vatican actually tried to squash it (believe it or not) but the cat was out of the bag and it unfortunately spread. I recently heard how they use to teach kids in the 1950's how to prepare for their first holy communion and lets just say it's probably even more reverant than many that attend the Latin Mass today.

I agree And even during the last supper, it didn’t say the disciples got up and took the Eucharist from Christ in their hands

I used to be a protestant. Converted to Catholicism when I was a teenager... Those popular "churches" always fizzle out. Young people (and others who have fallen away) go for a while, but their enthusiasm is built on sinking sand. I am concerned about Catholic parishes that try to follow the patterns of the evangelicals. Yes, improve the sermons. Yes, hire qualified musicians who can present Gregorian chant, polyphony, traditional hymnody - *real* church music.. Yes, restore the legitimate and true Catholic Liturgy - that will bring back the fear of God - get rid of all things casual. You don't approach the Throne of God to worship Him casually and comfortably! But don't introduce jokes and "street speak" into sermons, or secular music styles, or projectors/flashy lights/techie junk, socially popular "ministries," etc. Then we'll be on the same sinking sand and will go down in the same blazing humiliation... I am the Director of Music and Liturgy at a historic parish with reverent Liturgies, lots of young families, young singles, etc - we just got a new rector who last Sunday, beyond retirement age, who referred to God's holy prophet Amos as a Socialist. God help us. Our phony, leftist archbishop hates us...

They see community, they have these bible studies .... They don't have God in the most Holy Sacrament of the Altar and they don't have the fullness of truth ....so with free will you can do as you please but ... not recommending that anytime soon ! NO ...do not talk about changing the music to heretical contemporary protestant music ... the music is part of the liturgy itself
