This is such an spectator comment. Loyalty doesn't win championships. Going by the loyalty card let Stefanos continue with his dad who has been his coach all his life. No coach more loyal than that.

Didn’t Roddick give Coco the magic pill on her serve? Is a weekend all it takes to change a stroke that has radical flaws? Or is this just drive-by “coaching”? Sampras has also claimed to have magical ability for massive serve power increases? Could I please get a list of all the players they improved dramatically?

Not sure about Brad, but Patrick Mouratouglu is definitely a fraud and only leaching of high profile players for publicity. I don't care if he leaches of Tsitsipas or Rune, but Osaka doesn't deserve that problem that dude is.

Yeah, she is just not mentally tough as the top five players. Don't know if you can coach her up to that level.

For a coach to stay great they much have a player that matches that level of greatness. The other factor to consider is the coach should never be a bigger headline grabber than their player. While tennis is about winning tennis matches it's also about business and there is a lot of money in sponsorship and business deals. As a psychologist I am amazed that I see a psychologist traveling with a player. I just don't see the point the work needs to be done in private and more than likely off the court. I could be working with for example Coco and lets say Naomi and no one would ever know. That's how psychology works or should work its about the client and helping them and it should be a secret.

Times have changed. The younger gen3ration want to demystify mental health problems so that more people will come out and talk about it. It’s in vogue to have a personal psychologist. I hear that Sinner’s approach is quite different (the Formula 1 method)

Who would wanna be a coach to a top pro, go easy on them they feel you're missing something go hard they resent you for being a hardass and all the time they resent a coach who gets too much credit for a job well done, Robert Lansdorp maybe the greatest technical coach of all time, certainly the best theorist of ball striking hardly ever stayed with a player after they turned pro, he said they all became unbearably self important.

Andy, l had no idea that you were 2-1 against Pete Sampras. You're far too modest about your career. Osaka needs help but nothing extreme. Her ball striking is still solid. She had some matches this year against top players that could have gone either way. Osaka is still extremely capable.

Players like Rune and Gauff require cheerleading from their boxes. It’s not enough simply from spectators. Brad is from a different generation that didn’t do a lot of hand-holding. New coaches should be prepared to come equipped with pom-poms and party kits. Maybe a loot bag for every ace.

Patrick is fraud. He built ihis reputation on Serena. Patrick is a dinosaur of technique. He’s a business man. Gilbert is also a dinosaur rehashing the same stuff from the vault. Both of them should hire a psychologist, fitness coach and a coach who is more than a mouthpiece of marketing.

At this level of course the coach is important, however, for a top player is should not matter. They should be able to go out and perform and compete to win.

Andy Murray went from an also ran... to winning 3 major titles 2 Olympic gold medals... because of Ivan Lendl. What Lendl did with Murray was one of the greatest coaching jobs of all time.
