I've been following a few Minecraft KZbinrs on and off for over 10 years now as I find it relaxing, inspiring, and entertaining. Also been following your content since the early days and you're easily my favourite security KZbinr. When you first started with this series I was super intrigued but was waiting for all your fans who don't care for Minecraft let's plays to come out and let you know how much they don't care for any of this. I'm so glad they didn't deter you because this has quickly become my favourite Minecraft series. It really feels like I'm getting the best of 2 of my favourite types of content. Your presentation style is fantastic and you made the step into these sorts of videos seamlessly. It's a real testament to how good of an educator and entertainer you are and I really hope it continues. My only problem is I wish my 6 year old was a little older so he could fully grasp the concepts you discuss. No doubt I'll be revisiting all of these videos in a few years with him because I know it'll get him hooked on hacking and modding and I can't wait. Keep it up, and thank you so much!

Your crop farm is a bit inefficient, crops in 1.19 get their growth nerfed if you place multiple of the same crop next to each other. Which means you have to plant your crops in 1 block wide rows now. You can still place another row of a different crop next to it, just not the same crop. X = crop O = Something else (could be another crop, just not the same crop) These won't get nerfed: OOO XXX OOO OXO OXO OXO but anything else will get nerfed (for instance): XXX XXX XXX OOO XXX XXX OOO If you use Fabric to look at the source code, the behavior will be in the CropBlock class. In the randomTick method there's a chance to make the crop grow, the chance is based on moisture levels in the surrounding in the surrounding blocks. In the getAvailableMoisture method it will cut the moisture level (f) in half if you don't adhere to placing your crops in rows.

You should consider adding a vienminer module! Its a popular mod that allows you to break all connected blocks of the same type when holding down a key. So if you where to break a spruce log and hold down that key it would mine all of them. Could be quite fun to figure out! (Also the crop replanting thing might cause some performance issues by constantly checking blocks for if they are farmland so mabye only have that start checking if you are holding a seed/crop?)

if you use indium, you can use the normal fabric rendering API with sodium. i would highly recommend that mod.

I see you're interested in what your community is doing so here's something kind of cool: Some time ago, I built a basic general purpose 16-bit CPU in Minecraft 1.12.2 (following along with your livestreams & Ben Eaters videos), except it didn't have any conditional logic. I did use some mods, like a tickrate changer and project red, because it makes things _so much easier_ and more compact, my goal was to understand how a CPU works after all. I started building a V2 using RISC-V as my instruction set (specifically RV-32I), and who knows, it might even be able to run Linux if were to I put in enough effort. The problem is my server died (the HDD wouldn't mount as rw, only as ro) so I had to stop it. I'm not hosting (or working) on that world anymore since I'm too busy with university. Still, imagine running Linux in Minecraft, how cool would that be! All that's needed is some math (multiplication, division, etc) and atomic instructions, since Linux supports RV-32G at minimum.

@@snudget Minecraft server is written in Java, and for some reason runs on only one core. Single core performance is key with Minecraft, more cores mean pretty much nothing.

@@muha0644 Yeah, forgot about that. The problem is not that it is written in Java, more that most things in Minecraft need to run sequentially. Multithreading would probably break some Redstone things like instant wires: Imagine one thread turning off a redstone wire, while another thread turns on a piston at the same time. But normally the wire should be turned off first and then checking whether the piston should be extended. But you could probably use a threads safe queue where things will be added that have to be run in this tick and multiple worker threads that split up the work. When the queue is empty, that means the tick is fully processed an the queue will be filled with the things to do in the next tick and so on. But those big Tech Servers like Scicraft Prototech showed us that the things that minecraft actually handles on other threads (like beacon color calculation) can be used to break the game. Lol I should make a mod that runs minecraft on multiple cores and then sell it to big minecraft servers ;) Just kidding, open source is better and mojang would kill me.

You should take a look at FitMCs latest 2b2t video. He showcased a base who used baretone to retrieve items from unsorted shulker boxes in chests (like 1000) and you had a web interface where you enter want you want and the not will find it for you. It bows where everything is. Super cool

Thru my all play time from 1.2.1 up to now i saw one impressive hack. Player was flying but more like in spectator mode, he was in survival but could go underground and didn't take damage and could fly fast there. Was able to make damage from the ground, it was in 1.8.4 version of minecraft if im not wrong.
