When I was a child in the late 1950s / early 1960s my family took vacations to Lake Erie almost every year. One year, unusually, we stayed at a borrowed beach house and it had one of those TVs, I'm quite sure it was the same model. I was already messing with TVs so I was fascinated that they could fit all the tubes and circuitry into such a small space. Funny, what sticks in your head, I don't remember a thing about the beach house or what we did there, but I remember that TV, with its long, boxy metal cabinet, like it was yesterday.

Nice little set. I'm looking forward to seeing it functional again, too.

I remember that Shango did a bunch of these sets, and it was a fun series to watch---this one will no doubt be fun as well. 100% agree on swapping out the chassis and CRT from the other set, it just makes sense. It's always a nice luxury to have a decent donor set, regardless of what you're working on

Wow! I have this exact set, same color and everything. I got it about 10 years ago and it worked as it was with a nice bright CRT! It is on my list to fully restore and recap properly, I previously had the red and white version, that one had a bit of a weak CRT and I recapped it many years ago, in the early 90s or so. Your video will help me get prepared to restore mine!

on the right side of your bench by the dim bulb I see what looks like a bridge rectifier, what is that for? Great Video's!!!

I like the colour of that case. It's a shame that the other one has been covered in house paint...

it has a nice looking case, for some reason the word " France " appeared out of my head. Maybe it was the colour scheme. Well it makes some noises and no smoke lol.

Do you have any videos showing how to get the innards out quickly and safely? I’ve never taken apart a TV before, but I’d like to avoid electrocution and mercury poisoning. I don’t have any interest in the parts or restoring the TV - I just want the shell.

@@erinbuchanan8847 if it's been sitting a month there's unlikely to be any charge. See part 2 and beyond. It illustrates disassembly
