Like everyone else who commented YOU ARE THE MAN . Clogged filter from the hot water side , it actually pushed the mesh the opposite way because of the pressure. Thank you again .

Great video, took the TMV out of our radiant floor system that had only a trickle of hot water being pushed through. Valve had a clog of something in the hot water port. Flushed it out and let it sit in CLR for 30 min and reinstalled. Full flow 100% fixed for less than the $500 the plumbers wanted. Just wish I did it weeks earlier.

Probably the best info video I've seen on the thermo mix valves! I have been cleaning the filters (with some success) that are further down the line at the motion-sensor control valve. But I am seeing a drop in pressure as the water is warming up. Now I see there may be another filter (thanks to this video) at the TMV that I did not know about, and if it is there- probably the cold side is clogged, and the abundance of hot is causing the TMV to do its job and reduce the flow due to lack of cold water to mix.

Got one of these in a new build and my shower give me mediocre temperature water... Anyone know how I can just take the tmv out altogether? Replace it with.. Idk something else that won't hold back my hot water? Hate having to call a plumber in but...

These things are pox. I had a different brand. The filters are held by a spring clip that is almost impossible to remove. So instead of buying a new valve for $120, I just cutoff the cold inlet to the vavle.

Great vid Iv got a shower that is either freezing or boiling ? What would be the solution? It doesn’t mix to a warm temp jus extreme cold or hot

If it a thermostatic mixing valve, the hot and cold feeds may be crossed. If piped up incorrectly, they will work, albeit begrudgingly, for a short time but they will eventually give up the ghost, get "confused" and start "misbehaving". If the mixer is externally mounted like one of these kzbin.info/www/bejne/m6CVlWSKm9VjZ5o try running the shower hot. The connection in your left hand should feel warmer than the connection in your right. If this situation is reversed, it's not been piped up correctly. You will have to figure out how to swap the connections over and get a new thermostatic cartridge installed. Frankly, I'd just make sure the hot and cold feeds are sorted out and buy a new mixer. They mostly all have 150 mm pipe centres. If your mixer valve is recessed in the wall, behind a closure plate... Good luck!

I have a question and hope someone could answer: I have just bought a Pfsiter thermostatic shower trim and a valve. and I was wondering if the valve allows the temperature to go as cold as it comes naturally. I have seen in the demonstration here that it won't let only the hot water flowing. But how does it work with only cold water? My trim has 60F to 120 F signs on it.
