Nice tips. "Mutes" is one of my favorites, I think no other trick gets such bang for the buck for such little effort. Literally all you have to do is take out a group of instruments for a bar, then let them come back in, and BAM you instantly have one of the most powerful, hard-hitting parts of your song/beat. Don't do it too much though - especially within one song - or it gets predictable (like all production tricks)

To make a beat like this even bigger I'd recommend taking another ambience, stereo separating it, add some reverb with like 30-40% dry, add some midrange PP delay & sidechain it slightly with the kick. Gives the effect of the kick punching into the mix

@Charlie_Azrael4 жыл бұрын
I will now bestow upon you some of my arrangement sauce. Use some kind of distortion and reverb on the master, then lower them to zero in the mix. Then automate them to taste so that they will go on in the outro to make it really weird and spacious. It doesn't need to be either of those specifically, but using something to make your outro sound really faded and almost like and ambient sound itself will work

I don't know if putting all these fills etc. is good, just because it can't distract a person while rapping, same with automations. Imho it all should've been done later, after we got vocals. That's how I feel, maybe I'm wrong. But when i hear beats on the internet, most of them are just "raw", not meaning they're not mixed, cuz they are. What I mean by this is that their beats doesn't have any special effects, automations, maybe sometimes some type of risers and that;s all. The rest is done later after recording vocals
@ServidaMusic6 жыл бұрын
Yeah I totally get how you feel. But having all the effects done later will require individual stems which makes it usually 50-100$ more expensive. As opposed to buying a 30$ with effects that you can just slap vocals on top. A good rapper should be able to make those automatons and effects work anyway.
@chimneyOWN3D6 жыл бұрын
Servida Music okay I got your point. Thanks for responding
@KaizerMan6 жыл бұрын
If any rapper finds it difficult with that they can literally just record with a metronome. All a rap verse needs to be is in time to work with any specific beat really
