Tell your sister it's not the size of the Serving board, it's what she puts on it that makes the difference.

Matt, I really enjoy your videos! i started building furniture as a hobby in 1983. I make a lot of stuff over the years. My pride and Joy are two things, a cherry roll top secretary desk for my wife, and three quartersawn white oak tool chests. Also I no longer have a shop any longer, I can relate to what you are doing.

You'll get the feel for it after a while. Just keep the mix ratios right which is easy if you have the pumps. I've been through many gallons of West System through the years from boat building to resin augmented turnings - just don't let any thicker pours get hot while they cure. I wish you well.

Lol, your sister sounds like a kindred spirit! She thinks like me. Bigger is almost always better….. until it’s not. My friends have learned to expect to take home leftovers after a dinner or party because I seem to lack the the ability to judge the amounts of food etc I need to feed a given party of people. No one ever left my table hungry.

One thing I want to comment on, it is so good to see a woodworker like yourself that keeps his hand tools sharp, like the draw knife used to remove the bark. I've watched other woodworkers and it's painful to watch them struggle with a dull cutting tool. I enjoy your videos very much. Keep up the good work.

Awesome! I’ve made a few of these now with info from your videos along with river table with a waterfall edge. I seem to get tiny bubbles from air trapped in the edges in the wood pores I guess. I’ve started sealing the edges first but a few still sneak through. I haven’t tried the vacuum pot yet. Do you think that could be the difference? I do use slow set epoxy.

I'm watching videos like this before attempting my first epoxy pour, and I enjoy, with envy, your log milling videos because I, too, love the beauty of wood with all the different figures which add character to otherwise straight grained wood. I do have a question about this video. After your initial pour, you went back with some fast setting epoxy to do those small cracks and holes. Can you tell me what epoxy you used? Did you just mix Ecopoxy with more than normal hardener or a different epoxy all together?

Very nice! Go on amazon and you can buy a dozen or so “condiment squeeze bottles” for about a dollar each. Not only does the bottle serve as the final pour container, but it is so much easier to pour with than using those mixing containers. Bonus, let the extra cure in the squeeze bottle and you have turning blanks later...
