I was shocked to learn Red Hare was real way back when. Given their personalities I’d say Dong and Lü were made made for each other XD

Lu Bu was disloyal, but man, he knew how to seize an opportunity when it presented itself! From a low birth secretary with no future prospects (as his potential benefactors were dead) to so many promotions in a few years, to even later becoming a warlord. It's amazing he even got as far as he did.

Can you do one that explains the name of the offices and titles in the game ? The Chinese characters would make it easier to track where that certain title is mentioned in the story, but I am clueless to when a character was bestowed that certain title or what that title meant.

Hi Mr. Trivia. Love your content for several years now, keep it up!! Can you help me to why episode 3 through 6 is listes as ‘private videos’ and i cant see them? I have really been looking forward to this series. Best regards from Denmark.

The series comes out 2 episodes a week on Saturday and Sunday at 3 PM EST. But I prerecord the episodes so ones that I have already scheduled will show up as private and only go live once the time comes

You mentioned that Red Hare appears later in the historical record, but how about Sky Piercer? Was it a real weapon?
@SeriousTrivia2 жыл бұрын
We will mention this in the next episode but the short answer is no. Entirely fiction. No one would use that heavy of a weapon on horse back
@lazyc0mmander2772 жыл бұрын
I wonder, did you ever talk about Li Ru being the one who convinced Lu Bu to betray Ding Yuan in one of your lore series. The man was pretty instrumental to a lot of Dong Zhuo's schemes, but I feel like he's often overlooked by most people since he's such clear-cut disreputable individual. So much so that I'm not even capable of remembering what happened to him ultimately.
@SeriousTrivia2 жыл бұрын
That is purely romance and not historical
@Atom5232 жыл бұрын
Being a secretary would that imply that Lu Bu was reasonably educated as I assume that part of the job required reading and writing?
@SeriousTrivia2 жыл бұрын
yes he would be at least literate
@Atom5232 жыл бұрын
@@SeriousTrivia not that his actions were justified but I can imagine the frustration of training constantly and becoming a great fighter and then be told that your entire future is going to be taking notes for a person who probably won't be able to help you advance any further. Killing him is a bit extreme though.
@SeriousTrivia2 жыл бұрын
I mean zhu bu was basically the right hand man of the general so it is not really say a desk job for life. Liao Hua was Guan Yu's zhu bu and went on to become a full pledged general later on in life.
@Atom5232 жыл бұрын
@@SeriousTrivia well in Liao Hua's situation things were a bit different as the man he was taking notes for died and he only became an actual general many years later if I am not mistaken. Though yes I agree that there were different ways for Lu Bu to become a general instead of murdering his boss. That usually is frowned upon.
@shaggycan2 жыл бұрын
@@Atom523 yeah, it's still a serious betrayal, not to the level of killing an adopted father, especially in a society that values filial piety so much, but certainly a moral person would judge it treachery.

Maybe a stupid question; what if Lu Bu killed the Donger when he threw one of those ji's towards him? Couldn't he claim self defence, as Donger was known to be temperamentful man.
@eliu8682 жыл бұрын
He would definitely have been executed right there and then by Dong Zhuo's other subordinates cause, you know, he just killed the man in charge. Self defense wouldn't have gotten him anywhere.

Why were the young emperors called Lord Shi and Dong respectively. And what was a Lord in Han civilisation?
@SeriousTrivia2 жыл бұрын
I have answered this in a prior lore series (fall of the Han and I think Dong Zhuo as well) but essentially, both were nicknames and not official titles. Lord Shi was nicknamed after the Taoist monk who raised him outside of the palace because Liu Hong had a string of sons dying as babies so he felt cursed and had Liu Bian raised outside of the palace by Taoists since he was superstitious and the Taoist rising him was surnamed Shi. Lord Dong is similar but the nickname is from empress dowager Dong who raised him as his birth mother was killed by Empress He so to protect him from being killed by the Empress as well he was given over to the Empress Dowager (Emperor’s mother) to raise.
@liviubostan72292 жыл бұрын
@@SeriousTrivia Thanks,that was really insightful. I thought that Lord was similar to Marquise but reserved for the Royal clan,and not just a simple nickname

How does ppl in that Era sees Lu bu executing their own "boss" Ding Yuan? Especially Zhang Liao ,followers etc.?. Maybe will be in the other episode. Evntho they were not there but, I'm sure ppl knew that he did it . Ding Yuan didn't do anything wrong. ( just curious)

do you have a playlist that's in the right chronological order? i'm unsure which lore videos i should start watching first in sequence, unless i go start using wikipedia or something as a guide, which kinda defeats the purpose of watching your videos.. since i'll probably just end up reading the whole thing instead of watching.
@SeriousTrivia2 жыл бұрын
I have not shifted the series in chronological order, but it is definitely something I should do although some of the series are event focus while others are character focused so it is hard to say when you should watch what. Of the top of my head, start with 1. Fall of the Han, 2. Yellow Turban Rebellion, 3. Dong Zhuo the Last Tyrant then you can pick which warlord's life you want to start with as Sun Jian, Sun Ce should be watched back to back, Cao Cao has like three series covering his childhood to capturing the Emperor and Lu Bu is also a character based on. like I said, I need to sort this out soon too to figure out what I am missing and where things should go where
@SeriousTrivia2 жыл бұрын
oh I offer way more than wikipedia so just watching them even out of order isn't really going to ruin your experience as if the series need prior series, I will mention it and the playlist is chronological in terms of when I made them so I will never refer to a series that I haven't already made if that makes any sense
