The PT2645-S Pan & Tilt Head is one of the easiest on the market to set up and start capturing footage with. Each axis is driven by its own HSR-2645CRH continous rotation servo (included). Are larger gears an option, on both pan & tilt, so that I may use this for more precision at much slower speeds???? Thanks! PS: I video record rocket launches from 10-14 miles away. ;)

The stock 7:1 ratio is the largest that we offer. The MPT1100-SS might be more suitable for your application. While the stock system uses 20RPM motors and a 4.2:1 ratio, you could swap the motors for a speed that would account for the fastest rate of travel you'd need. Can I attach it to a tripod having a 3/8"-16 screw?

You can attach it to a male 3/8"-16 thread using the 545528 screw plate. Given the standard base plate of the PT2645-S has a round bore to capture a carriage bolt i would recommend swapping to a 585438 so that you can attach the 545528 screw plate. The screw plate will fasten to the new base plate using 6-32 x 1/4" flathead screws (91771a144). Let us know if you have any other questions [e-mail]. Thank you
