You can do this with almost any CNC. All you need is the model and software to output the tool path. Seemed like this tool path could have been more efficient to me but it was a good choice for showing the evolution of the project.

Cool, but next time attach your camera to a tripod instead of the router. The jitteriness of the video is enough to drive you crazy!
@TheBreaded9 жыл бұрын
He didn't. The bed of the machine moves. The camera is stationary, the router moves on the X and Z axis and the bed moves on the Y axis. If anything they could have mounted the camera to the bed and it wouldn't have been as jittery.

@flickwtchr9 жыл бұрын
Callier The bed is moving as well as the router bit. The camera was not attached to the machine.
@briansmobile19 жыл бұрын
flickwtchr So in this case I think Callier would prefer to view a video of this type with the camera mounted to the bed or carrier to reduce overall movement down to one plane. Doing this would negate from the experience, but a second wider angle shot would recapture that. Maybe just make it a short duration early on in the storyline.

NEO Node Master 4223. It's on the machine face. You can go to AutoCad website and download their free 3D scanning software that does a pretty good job with a simple digital camera. You can use Z-Brush, $900, to add small details if you wish. It's a great program and save your files to STL. Delft Splines "Desk Proto" can do multi axis machining at $1800. Rhino can also edit STL files and is also a great program. Go to cnczone.com and study what is there for your needs.

Kindly tell me who is the best for a large cnc router (belt or chain drive machine )
@baccus619 жыл бұрын
+Osama Abdelazim Hello Osama, I have tried a few different ways of driving large machinery and the best way for a big build is helical rack and pinion drive. It handles the weight better than any other type of drive. Straight cut rack is fine but if you can afford it helical is better. belts stretch too much, even 5 thousands is way too much and chain also has a bit of stretch in it. if you are pushing a heavy gantry along at 5 meters per minute then want to do a 90 deg turn then you need the least amount of stretch or rebound and rack is the best for that.
@osamaabdelazim15239 жыл бұрын
I'd like to thank you on your concern but kindly feed me back if I can fix the chain by welding it on the Gantry like the rack and pinion to avoid chain stretch
@baccus619 жыл бұрын
+Osama Abdelazim That would be ok as well but you need to leave enough room under the chain so the sprocket can go all the way through. I would probably weld every ten links or so and stretch the chain out before welding. I hope it works for you. If you are only going to rout at a slow speed then I wouldn't worry too much about welding the chain but make sure you use sprocket bigger than 18 teeth to get away from the cogging effect of small sprockets.

2 months, no answer. :) It will be bolted to the table. See those lines in the table? You can slide a nut into the groove below the slot and thread a bolt into it to hold the work. Other methods are vacuum tables, which that is not, and powerful electro magnetic blocks for ferrous materials. Certainly those methods are convenient but much less reliable. Also for metal parts, often a vise will be mounted on the table and the work held in the vise. I have two CNC machines.

@munnimann8 жыл бұрын
You can build quite qualitative CNC machines yourself for all kinds of purposes even under 1000$. Instructables has many many building plans. For example this one: www.instructables.com/id/CNC-Laser-Cutter-Journey/?ALLSTEPS You'll need to learn some things about electronics and some programming, but it is possible. With strong enough motors and a quality milling machine you will probably be able to cut out faces like in this video as well.

Id guess it's "Renshape" or something similar (generic name is polyurethane tooling board) It machines real nice, and you can plough through it at a million mph. The machining strategy here is "interesting" to say the least, I'd have just hogged 90% of it out with Z-level roughing and finished with a nice conical cutter and small stopover.

@deitydan8 жыл бұрын
I don't see where it says 2000x speed, but if it thats true then, er, yeah.... It must have been moving almost imperceptibly in real life. "Hey, boss! You know that $50k CNC machine we invested last year's profit in, the huge thing that is big enough to carve out a car with mm accuracy? Do you mind if I tie it up for the best part of a month doing an okayish copy of my face that we could have done with a $500 X-carve hobbiest machine (and probably better), or hired a carpenter for 3 hours to do by hand?" "Yes, that sounds like a great use of the incredible investment in a machine whose space-use alone costs 6k a year in warehouse rental and 1k per month in electricity - go for it!"
@PrinceWesterburg8 жыл бұрын
Its right at the begining under the heading. Thats said, I grew up taking things apart with my dad's little red handled screwdriver that had '5000V' moulded into the handle. It was a good lesson as he told me it was a part number and that some guy in the 60s got killed thinking it was the electrical insulation capacity. Just re-read your comment - Ace! You're a guy whos been out in the real world too!!! :D
@pipspiper8 жыл бұрын
2,000 speed means the spindle rpm which means spindle rotation of 2,000 revolution per minute, not the video speed. If the video was filmed 2000 times faster, you couldn't see whats happening.
