Fan theory: Sesshomaru was really protecting Rin, Inuyasha, Kagome, Towa, and Setsuna. He became distant towards his daughters for Kirinmaru to not realize such plan. He trapped both Inuyasha and Kagome to the black pearl for them to be safe instead of being killed by Kirinmaru. He knew that once his girls grew up they will be strong half demon Princesses that can defeat Kirinmaru. He acts like he doesn’t care to trick Kirinmaru and for him to know his plans.

Tetsiga for Inuyasha (demon half in check) to eventually be absorbed by Tensega to teach Seshy about compassion. And eventually destroy Sounga. Omg I remember crushing hard on Sesshomaru when I was 5 years old and the only reason I watch Inuyasha now I'm 24. I havent noticed much of Sesshomaru x Rin before and forgot some details, all I remember is being pissed w/ Inuyasha and his fixation to Kikyo 🤣 I need to rewatch this!!!
