I think the only reason Sesshomaru isn't the main character of the series is that he is so friggin' op. I mean, we wouldn't even have a story with him! He's just wandering around, minding his own business and slaying off annoyances. He doesn't even care about the jewel, 'cause it seems to be too mainstream in the youkai world. :D In the books he doesn't seem to have a castle, lands or anything either, so I just wonder what is he doing exactly? At least Inuyasha's group has something relevant to do, collecting shards, helping villages and sorting out their own problems, but Sesshomaru just... is. I doubt he even has any problems instead of Inuyasha, who he seems to be reluctant to kill even after all that hate he throws at his way. The poor guy must just be extremely bored and keeps Inuyasha alive just to have some fights with him every now and then.

When the Inu no Taisho was still alive, he was the lord and his wife/mate was the lady. Now, Sesshomaru is the lord because his father is dead and his mother is now the "Lady Mother".

This is basically how a naruto fight goes: They start the fight throw 2 -3 punches and a kick then they start talking and talking then a flash back then a flash back inside a flash back then they start crying then a filler with endless flashbacks in it then 20 more filler episodes and when they are finally back to that fight that you didn't even remember. they stop fighting and become friends..........Naruto is still a Better Love Story than Twilight.

Seriously, second to Koga, Sesshomaru actually has character development by learning compassion and discovering why he inherited Tenseiga in the first place. +SaitohYatate at first its slightly paternal, but the author confirmed that at the end of the final act when he leaves rin in the care of Inuyasha and kaede (i think i spelled it right) for her to grow up and learn to understand humans is so that later she could choose to stay or return with him when she was ready to the West. Its implied that his mother assumes Rin will one day be Lady of the West and lets Rin refer to her as mother and Obviously hes the coolest char in the whole series who maintained a serious level of authenticity but it cant be said Inuyasha didnt develop. Inuyasha went from hating humans and wanting to be a full demon to being the protector of an entire region (manga), resolving his feelings and guilt towards kikyo and making peace with her before her death, Making human connections, growing up enough to marry Kagome& wanting a family with her, (when she finally was able to return 3 yrs later) and being strong enough and on good enough terms with his brother that sesshomaru trusted him to protect one of the only people he cares about. The bullheadedness remained but he definitely had real development.

Yes, it is implied that Sesshomaru and Rin will be a romantic couple in the future, however, most of those hints are from unofficial episodes, including the CD drama where Sesshomaru confesses his feeling to 16 year old Rin and proposes to her. But the anime/manga really should've been about Sesshomaru, the story of the western lands sounds very interesting and it would be so great to see an official ending for him and Rin, no matter what their relationship turned out to be. He's my favorite character
