These shaper videos are just great. Im new to Shaper Orign from Sydney Australia and it's the first time this amazing tool has become available here. Cant wait to receive mine in February 2025.

So useful, thanks to everyone involved, particularly Robert Bieber who is clearly a coding wizard to build the generator and also very generous to host it for public use.

You guys might add a good reason for using the right side locating pins verses left is it helps stablise the board against the rotating force of the bit, I also noticed you were using the clamps against the board edge for addition support,

Met you guys at the FWW event a few weeks back and I got some great info and tips in some great one-on-ones. Thank you. Having said that, THIS is the tool I've been looking for to do half blind dove tails in drawers. The App is awesome and the finished product is adaptable to pretty much any drawer size. As Jake would say; "Wow! Wow wow wow!!!"

13.5mm "Well that explains a lot" from Jake was hilarious🤣. I wish you would have put the web site for the dovetail generator.

I’m a member of the Syskiou Woodcraft Guild in southern Oregon and northern California. We have a few members that have a Shaper and I want to at some point get a group together to share ideas and techniques.

Fantastic! Could you provide the link to the dovetail generator? I don't see it pined to the video and I don't see it in shaper hub either.

Absolutely! We recommend dovetails.bieber.dev

@@Shapertools Found the link independently, but don't see how to link what it generates to the Origin? What am I missing?

@@BdwyMTI download the file and then upload that download to your shaperhub acct files.

You guys should do a split screen to show the cutter and the screen at the same time.

Could "Strait Diameter" be the diameter of the straight cutter used for pins?
@rlevitta2 ай бұрын
Why can’t you add the additional .004 to the base dimension so that you don’t have to cut a second time?
@lenkuffert74288 ай бұрын
30:39 Gents, are the dimensions you talk about here (25 and 122.4 mm) the distance from the left edge to the centre of each pin? That’s my guess, but I’ve been wrong plenty.

Does this end the 'start with tails' discussion?
@lenkuffert74288 ай бұрын
50:07 Second question on this video! Could this cut be done with Plate instead of this somewhat elaborate jig?

Could’nt you folks program the DT routine so that there is a teachavble location to raise and lower the DT cutter safely?
@steveh87245 ай бұрын
That's an interesting suggestion. I also wonder whether it would be possible to indicate somehow how far away from the board you can move toward the user while still keeping the dovetail bit clear of the metal workstation support bar. One complication with the 'safe zone' for raising the DT bit is that the bit will also auto lift if the router encounters certain levels of force beyond what is 'normal'. This action will happen no matter where the bit happens to be at the time.

Shaper needs to dev a Origin dovetail extension that has onboard design AND a safety for user-retraction of the bit inside the dovetail (prevent). Even better if it isn't an extra $$$$$ extension. Also, using the connected caliper is a great idea- but Shaper needs to make a interfaced caliper (or other measuring device) that is greater than 8 inches. E.g., use the 1/4 shank to reference off of one side and then the other- Origin should be able to measure the distance between the two points?

I have downloaded the files from the new dovetail generator and can see the custom anchor. But the custom anchor isn’t active when trying to place it at 0,0. . Sometimes the custom anchor triangle is red and sometimes it isn’t red. Any ideas?

I love the new program for creating dovetails. It is way easier than F360. The one thing that I am struggling on is a double dovetail. Does anyone have a simple way or formula for putting into the new program?
