Rob is such a musical dude. Pretty much every single time we work together, Rob pulls something new out. It’s inspiring to see and hear someone constantly learning new stuff and growing.

Funny you mentioned Eliot Easton and Steve Stevens. I was speaking to my guitar teacher about those two one day and he called them the "kings of the in and out" soloists. Meaning they injected short solos where every note really meant something. A lot to be learned there.

I have studied all the nashville session greats, on my guitar journey....And although there all great.....Rob, is definitly the hook guy, my favorite....He knows what to add and where to add it.....He just hears motiffs in his head, i do too....I can tell he works the same way....Im no where near on his level.....Hes a seasoned hitmaker...Just bought a place outside Nashville, McNeely would be my choice to play on my record for sure....His playing is so soulful.....

It’s refreshing to hear how intuitive and creative this one is. More art, song, feel, and less the technical theory. Of course, this approach is 1000x harder to teach and requires more exposure.

HEY, TRYING TO REACH ROB. GOING TO GIVE HIM A COOL FLASHBACK. IT'S 2 MONTHS AWAY FROM HIS 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF HIS CD WITH ROB WALLETT. AMAZING ORIGIN ISSUE. FROM OCT. 1993. NEVER REALIZED HOW GREAT OF A PLAYER HE WAS EVEN BACK THEN. I SAW THEM EVERYTIME HE CAME TO LEXINGTON KY. HAVEN'T SEEN HIM SINCE. WONDERING IF HE EVER GOT HIS DAD'S GUITAR BACK? PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO HIM. MY NAME IS VIC CORNETT.

i like it's about the musicality, not play this note then this note....i think that's where us intermediate home players can get a lot of benefit, thanks man! also like he's noodling and getting ideas, that works for me but have been told to "hear" it first. that doesn't always work for me. I appreciate a talented musician validating I'm not totally alone in creating ideas. Really like this.
