Love the Jack regeneration, a great TW scene that really couldn’t have been on DW. The Welsh council estate scenes are hilarious, but really, gotta love the BBC making Sugar Bear wear a hi vis jacket and hard hat while breaking Jack out. Health & safety kids! He is rocking the suit, I agree.

Can't believe I actually forgot about Ianto pulling Jack's concrete cell out the building, and dropping him in that quarry, hilarious! I think this is actually my favourite episode of Torchwood because of all the Ianto character development and background, it's also really nice that the character gets the attention that he deserves!

This episode put a great highlight on Ianto and Gwen. I love Ianto’s family too. His sister and brother in law are great. It’s so sweet that they went to these lengths to protect Ianto. Even the whole neighbourhood. Such a brilliant family dynamic. Lois is also lovely. She’s basically Martha’s replacement. The original plan that RTD had in mind was to have Martha and Mickey appear in both Torchwood and SJA within different periods but unfortunately both actors were unavailable. Lois is still a great character though. Love her so much. I also love the way Ianto rescued Jack. :)

Bit of trivia - when they're in the quarry at the end of the episode, Barrowman was supposed to be wearing skin coloured boxers, he decided to take them off when he was laying in the rubble, so when Gwen tries covering her eyes that was genuinely Eve Myles trying not to look.

To this day, I can't think of a worse fate for a person that to be encased in cement. Perpetual drowning would be one but at least you might be able to move in between deaths. Jack would be stuck, frozen, dying, choking, freezing, stiff and DYING over and over again in perpetual consciousness and unendurable agony. It's a terrifying prospect but somehow still only like the fifth scariest idea put forth in this series. 0_0

What's also great to see with Ianto with what you said about how far he's willing to go for those he loves is that we already knew that when he tried to save Lisa when she became a cyberman. Except then it got him nowhere but in a world of pain. Here he tries to save Jack by any means necessary and succeeded. It's kind of like Stranger Things when Steve finally won a fight! Ianto finally won in saving the person he loves. So satisfying.

Jess - You asked three questions : What happened in the past? - When you find out you will lose it! What do "they" want? - What is "their" motive? - When you find out you will double lose it! "Torchwood" was originally planned and scripted to finish at the end of season 3. In my opinion, if you want your feelings and memories about "Torchwood" to be unsullied I would forget about season 4. The plot and script is not up to usual standards. Although as it is mostly set on your side of the pond you may be able to set aside the weaknesses.

I don't actually think Miracle Day is that bad. It has some great scenes, performances and set-pieces (it could've maybe been an episode or two shorter, just to trim the fat), but it's biggest sin was that it had to follow this, which set one hell of a high benchmark

I don't think the female in charge was given the full info on Jack (or maybe disbelieved it) so probably thought she had done enuff with the bomb, remember she was busy in pursuit of Gwen whilst Jack reanimated to full body. Also if separated begs the question would there be multiple Jacks?

In the behind the scenes of this episode, RTD said that Jack molecules would literally pull themselves back together, since I doubt they found all of Jack pieces after the explosion, I guess that exactly what happened
