@carlosyoung16294 жыл бұрын
@@rtozier2011 . It wasnt supposed to be taken that way but I will respect your view point of it perhaps there was something lacking in the way I wrote the answer but the writers idea was that The Doctor did something that altered a fixed point in time. Fixed points are the ones the show says can not be altered. Because the Doctor saved Capaldis original character in the whoniverse, it meant a family tree progressed when originally it became extinct. Because of the whole fixed point thing it was suggested that there was a debt to be paid and sadly it happened as it did.

Season 2 and 3 are such great seasons of TV, though in very different ways. Whenever I think 'Torchwood' the first thing that comes to mind will always be the motw structure and the emotions of S2 but, on the other hand, S3 is equally great in how it fulfils the potentials of this show and its characters. Everyone's at their best, especially Peter Capaldi. I also liked how they fleshed-out the whole team's families. I know you're going to love the rest of the series. If you thought this episode's cliffhanger was epic and shocking, just you wait! Also, a bit of trivia for you. The hospital room they meet Rupesh in first was actually the set for a long-running British hospital drama/soap called "Casualty", which was filmed in the same studio complex as TW, DW & TSJA. Although the basement scene when Jack gets repeatedly shot was the same place they did that episode with the Tommy & the ghosts in Season 2.

The thing with Peter Capaldi was partially explained in _The Girl Who Died._ As the Doctor, he'd chosen that face because he'd saved that family at Pompeii and wanted to remind himself of his responsibilities. What _wasn't_ explained in that episode was that his Pompeii character (and family) lived when they shouldn't have, and later moved to the UK. A deleted scene from _The Woman Who Lived_ shows his character in the UK during the great plague. The idea touted by Russell T Davies and largely agreed upon by Stephen Moffat was that the character in _Children of Earth_ was a descendent of the Pompeii character, therefore looking remarkably similar.

And yes Capaldi springs about nearly everywhere in the Whoniverse. Doctor Who, Torchwood and Class. He pops up in nearly ever related Who show. Pity he never got the chance to appear in SJA. Rupesh was a good false lulling sense of security into making you think he would replace Owen. I would also be wary of the comment section but I'm sure your mods are already working on that. The scene with Ianto and his sister is so heart-warming and lovely until her husband comes in and kills the mood in a funny manner lmao! The kiss between Jack and Ianto is also lovely. :)
